Defect Summary	Certain honeywell fram racing brand hp4 and hp8 oil filters that were manufactured from may 25, 2006, through september 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. the affected filters are marked with a date code a61451 through a72571 sequentially. the date code and part number appear on the filter housing. fram racing hp4 and hp8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. the gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures.
Consequence Summary	This condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Corrective Summary	Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. the recall began during november 2007. owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

	Thi problem is in canada too, i just bought a 1995 gmc 2500 extended cab for pulling my horses and i was driving it home, i went to my friends house to visit when i was pulling in his driveway i hit the brakes an the pedal went right to the floor i barely stopped before going through his garage door and i quickly put the truck in park. the brake lines are corroded and the line ruptured on the drivers side right beside the frame rail. i have never seen a brake line rupture before and was kind of puzzled then found this site onlne and i was surprised to see so many like compliants of the same issue
