Defect SummaryVehicle description: certain sport utility vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 201, occupant protection in interior impacts. these vehicles have a console cover/armrest cam latch that could release at less than the required load of the standard.
Consequence SummaryDuring a crash, the console cover could open and the cover or items stored under it could injury an occupant.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the console latch mechanism.

 Oil leak is found on all gmc envoys, cost for replace in seals, $300. also bushings on doors go bad causing doors to fail to close. cost to replace bushings $125 plus labor. which can be a safety problem. i have 30,000 miles with oil leak and both door bushings gone bad on the driver and passenger door. time of problem is when dealership notified me of the problem.*ak
