| Dt: the consumer complained about a power steering problems. there was a constant squeak in the steering even while the vehicle was parked. she said there was a popping noise while turning right or left. the consumer also heard the popping noise while going over speed bumps. the squeaking noise began as soon as the vehicle started. the service dealer replaced the power steering belt, power steering gear, a link and bushing, and the drive belt. also, the dealer adjusted the power steering pulley. this did not remedy the problem, so they replaced the entire power steering pump. however, the problem recurred. the dealer thought it may have been something in the front suspension, so they replaced two stabilizer links. this still did not remedy the problem. *ak updated 11/29/05. *jb | |||

| My 2004 gmc envoy slid into a curb and rolled on its side. i believe that the accident was caused by ball joint failure. i could not get any assistance in the investigation, but i know that the accident was caused by mechanical failure and have pictures and witnesses for this accident. the vehicle was totaled as a result of this accident. this vehicle was purchased new and never had any repairs or work done on the drivers side front wheel. it was a 2004 model with around 20000 miles. i would any information that you can provide and would also like to go on the record with this complaint against gmac. i would hope to keep someone from losing their life due to this mechanical problem. the loss due to this accident was over 30,000 dollars. *jb | |||
