| Defect Summary | Certain sport utility vehicles have windshield wiper systems that will not turn on, cease operation while in use, fail to turn off/on by themselves (moisture sensitive wiper system), or have continuous windshield washer pump operation because the presence of water within the wiper modules can either cause a short circuit or can lead to the corrosion of components within the module. | |||||||||||||||

| Corrective Summary | Dealers will cover the windshield wiper module vent hole with a patch. also, the wiper motor, circuit board, and electrical connector will be inspected to signs of water intrusion and/or corrosion and be replaced as required. the recall began july 6, 2004. owners should contact chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438; oldsmobile at 1-800-630-6537; or gmc at 1-866-996-9463. | |||||||||||||||

| I took my car to jay auto mall in columbus ga. and was told they would not repair the flap on the washer flap that covers the hole that delivers the windsheild wiper fluid to clean the windsheild. i was told that they would have to breakdown the complete delivery system of the wiper fluid to fix the problem. the delivery system works fine for the passenger side. all i need is a repair of the wiper flap on the drivers side. can you help me? | |||

| I dont know why there is no in investigation when theres alot of the same vehicle going through the same problems my 2002 has 118 000 and it had alllllllllllllllllll of the problems that everybody clomplained and even more than whats allready there written all u waiting for is something really bad to happen then u recall when is to late the transmission was repaired completely and there again the same problem in less than 3 months 4wd has been sent to fix more than 6 time still dont know whats the problem, breaks skweeks all the time, every time it rains got to stop cant see cause of the wipers, the seat belt ripped on the rear side, the clutch stays stuck on while driving, heaters dont work on number 5 it will turn off, if i put the heater to heat all around my vehicle turns off, the front wheels one is more apart from the bumper than the other and when it snows with out the 4wd u dont go nowhere it gets stuck everywhere or slides............. hope theres help | |||

| Recalls that are seriously affecting the car's safety that cannot be repaired because the service call has closed, but was bought that way without knowing. the wiper motor works when it wants on the driver side, preventing clear safe vision during rain, the 4 wheel drive is stuck in 4 wd, the front suspension possibly cracked, the headlight doesnt face straight on the road, the air bag on the passenger side has defect that if deployed can cause bodily infury to the passenger, license plate only works when its slammed shut, and have issue with the electrical under the dash that apparently fails to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards no. 101, control location, identification, and illumination and no. 208, occupant crash protection..but yet gm wont repair it !!! all of these are prior recalls, but because i wasnt the original owner and didnt take the car in when they were first announced, gm refuses to make my envoy safe from causing me or my kids harm. because the first owner didnt do it, or because its too late. if a year make and model of a car has a recall, why does it matter when the issue surfaces, its obviously a cause for concern, why not repair it? | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2002 gmc envoy slt. the contact stated he was driving around 60 mph and the low beam lights went out. the problem is intermittent, he doesn't lose the high beams, this problem reoccurs about three or four times. he has called the dealer, and they told him to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic testing, the manufacturer was cotacted and he was advised there is no recall on his vehicle for this problem. the failure mileage was 133, 00 and current mileage was 135,000 ....dwh. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2002 gmc envoy xl. the contact stated that he has been experiencing the same failures as noted in recall # 03v096000 (electrical system: wiring: interior/under dash). he has taken the vehicle to the dealer, but the failure still persists. the contact stated that the seat belts continue to lock and the windshield wipers are malfunctioning. the wipers have been replaced numerous times and the failure causes limited visibility in certain weather conditions. the suspension for the arms of the ball joints was replaced and the vehicle continues to shake, shimmer, and make a loud noise. the vehicle was repaired, but the failures are ongoing. when turning, the steering wheel hesitates and causes the vehicle to jerk uncontrollably. when the windows are down, the interior lights dim due to an electrical short. the tires were changed four times, but continued to fail. the contact stated that the brakes have been replaced repeatedly. the dealer stated that the discs were failing due to adverse weather conditions. the current mileage is 68,000 and failure mileage was 38,000. updated 1/15/09 *cn the catalytic converter, the camshaft, and engine coil was replaced. the check engine light is still on. updated 01/21/09 | |||

| I bought the car used feb. 2011 about march 2011 sometimes when it is started (no specific start time) the check engine light will be on (not always) and the car will die while driving approximately 25 to 35 miles per hour. this is not a all the time problem, and i cannot find a reason why some days it does this and some days it doesn't. also sometimes the cruise control works and sometimes it doesn't. . also sometimes the wipers stop in mid swipe. | |||
