On thursday 12/27/2011 on my way to work pulled into hess gas station put my truck in park look up and i was rolling back... look at the gear shift and it was in park but on my dashboard the truck was in 1st gear tried to pull it out of park by the hand gear and it kept rolling back and forth then it finally lock up in park but still on the dashboard it said it was in 1st gear unable to change gears, had to have my truck towed to where i purchased it from autoline in jacksonville fla. found out the shifter cable pop in half had to have it replaced purchased the shifter cable and shifter assembly costing just for the parts over $200.00 at 292.00 labor i only had the truck 3 months and since they claim it was wear and tear it was not covered under my extended warranty i purchased. this was a very scary morning glad i was not driving it and pulled over to purchase gas that morning. what i don't understand is why is this considered wear and tear.....

For the last few months the check engine light would come on and go off after a few days; we took it to our mechanic who ran a diagnostic and they said there is nothing wrong, probably a faulty sensor, not harmful. so, last night while driving, using cruise control and on the interstate my speedometer stopped working. when i came to a stop at an exit i noticed the speedometer was reading 42 mph but i was at a complete stop. i do not even want to imagine what might have happened should it have begun to work while i was doing 60+mph while on cruise control!!! this is extremely dangerous! so i came home and did some research to see if this is a known issue with my 2004 gmc envoy xl and low and behold this is an issue to all gmc suvs from 2002-2005! i am disgusted at the information i found that states gmc isn't willing to take ownership of the recall/repair when this is already a known issue!! please act on this with due diligence and recall this faulty instrument panel before someone gets hurt or worse!!!! *tr

I traded my 2005 ford focus 26410 miles to wade raulerson gmc on october 3, 2007 wrote two checks in the amount of 500.00 each that they held for four weeks for a down payment. we looked at a 2004 gmc envoy with 65,000 miles the salesman quoted us a price of 17,000 so we did the paper work the first time on the 16th we were called in again and told we had to sign more documents this time the price of the envoy rose to 21698.35, i asked about my 05 focus was told it sold the next day and we had to have gap protection. payoff on my car was 12,502.95 and it looked as if they were giving me 14900.00 but raised the price of the truck by 4000.00. bad deal to begin with. the problems began. i had to return it at the end of the month in october 2007 to have the headlights, seatbelt, and motor in the window replaced, and diagnosed to find why the service engine light will not go out. two weeks later stranded at the daycare i had to buy a new battery. on 05/05/2008 the conditioner went out. i paid the dealership over 100.00 to tell me it would be an additional 600.00 plus dollars to repair the mode actuator door motor. october 17, 2008 i spent 375.02 to have both the shift control cable and gear shift lever removed and replaced. thank god i was actually on a parking lot when the cable broke and not in traffic. contacting wade raulerson gmc has been useless i have practically been told you bought the lemon as-is now it's your troubles! there should be a law against this type of business and not just for new cars. now no-one will touch it because of the problems it is having and the large amount that's now owed. every time the vin is pulled i get pushed out of the door faster than i can blink. btw the service engine light is still on and has been since i left the dealership. i?m tired of honest hard-working people being raked over the coals by unscrupulous dealers while they get protected by the as-is rule then laugh all the way to the bank. *tr

Hello, hope you can help myself and other persons from not happening. i came home from work saturday, and parked in the garage as usual. after being home and watching some tv i know for sure was 2 in a half hours. my wife asked of me to go to the garage to get some ice cream, we have a freeze in there. i walked in the door and couldn't believe how hot! it was in there it wasn't a hot day at all to make the garage sizzle. we have a thermometer gauge in there and believe me it read 100 . i was shocked! i went into the house to get my wife, to let her feel the heat, and try to find the source of the problem. we both thought it was the freezer, because that's the only thing plug in. we felt the freezer from the outside , in some places it was hot. i couldn't take the heat any more and opened the garage door. there was no smell of anything that could be wrong. then i touch my envoy, and hood of the car was hot, then we started to feel around the heat from the car was close enough to make the freezer hot. i opened the hood and the part to keep the hood up was to hot to handle. i mange nothing was burning no smell just heat inside and out. i pulled it out of the garage because of fear my garage going up in flames, with gasoline and other flammables. i open the door, and wow the heat i hurried and pulled it out. i looked at the gauges and they all read normal? i asked a few friends and they couldn't figure it out. we left the envoy in the drive all weekend, and left the garage door open to vent out. to my knowledge this has never happen before. we do have the bumper to bumper plan. could you please check into problem it could safe a lot of lives. thank god my wife wanted that orange sherbert. *tr

Well lets just say after receiving the envoy back from the dealer for replacing the gears in the transmission in which gm did not find to be at fault for not checking the transmission @ 31,000 miles when i had problems with it not shifting correctly. so over the next months following this my transmission went out @ 52000 miles, so gm had me pay a 500 deductible. now my service engine light is on for the coolant system according to on-star, so back off to the delaership for not checking all the codes for the service engine light. i have already had to replace the fuel filter inside the gas tank, the gas tank neck, the battery @ 38,000 miles, and tires @ 28000 miles, brakes @ 38000 even when i asked the dealership to check the brakes and complained 3 times about the brakes. as i further investigated complaints regarding this vehicle, i found that the problems that i have had others have had reported to lemon law, nhsta, bbb. these items have happened from the start of purchasing this vehicle up until march of 2008. *tr

Engine, check gadges light appears, suv stalls, radio lights and steering lights keeps failing. i have taken my 04 envoyxl into the dealership over 7 times for the same problem in which they have not yet been able to fix/resolve. my envoyxl check engine and check gadges lights keep popping on and the vehicle continues to cut off/stall the dealership has not yet fixed the problem, i have taken the suv in over 6 times for this problem. from 2004 until now 2007 the problem continues. the lights on the dash board keeps going out. they have replaced the lights at least 2 or 3 times but they keep going out. these lights are on the radio part, the buttons which operate the radio and switches the station. the panels seems to get very hot. the lights are currently out now after being replaced 3 times and now the vehicle is out of warranty. the paint on the suv is very dull and the leather on the 2nd row seat is cracking, completely worn and very cheap. i complained to the dealership 1 year after i purchased the vehicle that the leather is worn out too fast, nothing was done about the 2nd row leather seats. the paint on the exterior is dull and spotty, i complained to the dealership before the 36,000 mile warranty expired and nothing was done about the paint either. this suv is a lemon, it continues to cut off although many attempts has been made to repair the problem, i think they should buy this vehicle back since it can't be fixed. there is a defect in the electrical system since these lights on the instrument panel continues to wear out very fast and the radio had to be replaced already but the lights continues to blow out on the instrument panel and the steering wheel which also controls the radio and other components. *tr

I purchased a 2004 envoy with 18,000 miles in the summer of 2006. beginning in january 2007, my 3 year old son let me know that he was cold while riding in the back seat and begged that i turn off the air. turns out that the vent in the back of the car was blowing ice cold air on my son. the temperature outside was approximately 10 degrees. i called and scheduled a time to take my car into the dealership, as it was still under warranty. i found out that the vehicle had a bulletin stating that gmc was familiar that there was heat failure in the back of the cars, but the company was choosing not to do a full recall. instead, they were waiting for customers to discover the problem and bring it in for repair. they had to install a special pump, however, this still did not fix the problem. instead, it just modified the temperature of the air from approximately 20 degrees to maybe 50 degrees. not a lot of comfort in a minnesota winter. i was informed that bottom line, it was a design flaw with the vehicle, and that i could just try to force the air from the front of the car to the back seat. what is the point of having vents in the back of the car, and having a separate heating element specifically for the back of the car? i purchased this car because i thought that with the vents in the back, it would help heat the car faster in the winter, helping to keep my son warm. i do not believe that heat should be a luxury, and am disappointed that gmc would not do more to correct the problem. i want it to be known to the general public that this is a problem in the envoy and trailblazer, especially for families with small children who do not have a voice to let their parents know the icy air blowing on them. *nm

I purchased an used 2004 gmc envoy xl in 2005 with warranty. about a year began experiencing problems took to dealer was told engine had to be replaced due to head bolt breaking. at this time i only paid my deductible as it was covered under the manf warranty. now 3 years later, i began to experience problems. engine light one took to mechanic (warranty has expired) was told engine needs to be replaced. seems it's the same problem it had with prior engine. *tr

My 2004 gmc envoy xuv (v6) has an engine problem. it has stalled on 3 occassions. we told the dealer service department about the incident and they did a diagnostic test on it. they said the computer on the envoy didn't have a record of the incident. on the 1st incident it happened when pulling out of a parking spot. the 2nd time was after reversing out of a driveway and then driving forward out of the driveway. the 3rd time was attempting to drive forward after waiting for the garage door to open.

I heard a clicking noise from under the hood and after pulling off the cover plate for the engine exhaust manifold i saw the manifold was cracked. at idle speed fumes get inside vehicle. repair has not been made so old part is available. upon research on the internet there are numerous other complaints of this problem. i sent an e-mail to gm and someone called and said they need more people to report it to get something done. i believe it is a safety issue because of the fumes and possible fire hazard.

Started to hear loud rattle coming from rear of vehicle, thought maybe a heat shield around muffler went bad. took it into the shop and they stated not sure what happened, though you have something that has come loose in the resonator. around $100 to get the resonator removed, have not quoted a new one from the dealer yet. i would imagine the replacement part will fail just as the original part has done. *tr
