| Tl- the contact owns a 2004 gmc envoy xl. while driving 60 mph, the contact attempted to pass a vehicle, the accelerator depressed to the floor; making the vehicle go faster without command. the contact put the vehicle in neutral and eventually maintained control of the vehicle. the contact then turned off the ignition and then turned the vehicle back on. it was then that the vehicle began to drive normally. the dealer nor manufacturer were contacted; the failure was not repaired. the failure mileage 79,000 and the current mileage was 79,061. the vin was not available. nw | |||

| Own a 2004 gmc envoy and i have problems with the fuel gauge and the odometer. the fuel gauge goes past the f line when the vehicle is not on fuel. also the odometer will stop working or get stuck on 10-15 mph. he happens often...every other day. i was told that it would cost 1400 to fix and a possibility it may not fix the problem. | |||

| 2004 gmc envoy xl speedometer and tachometer inaccurate readings. speedometer readings some as high as 115-120. have no idea the actual speed at which i am travelling. terrified to think of using cruise control when travelling interstates many times each year. have reviewed online comments and i am not the only person experiencing this problem. gm/gmc appears to know about the problem based on the comments and dealer/service responses. stands to reason that a faulty instrument panel could affect other functions of car. not knowing speed at which i am travelling is dire safety issue. what has ntsha done to address this issue with gm/gmc? | |||

| While driving my n2004 gmc envoy, myn speedomotor quit working and shows speeds over 100mps when driving. when in park, off or idling, the speedo needle is never at zero... it is at 30 or 40 mph during these times. i do no know how fast i am going. | |||

| I own a 2004 envoy xl 2 wd. it has 40,000 miles on the odometer. on three different occasions the speedometer read zero while the car was above 40 mph. the speedometer remained off line until the next time it was stopped with turning off the ignition. upon start up,the speedometer needle began to recognize the actual speed variations of the drive. undocumented rates of speed could cause accidents. when will the next time when this recurs on the vehicle? will this and/or could this cause an accident? *ak | |||

| Speedometer was erratic. sometimes registered higher mph than the vehicle was moving. turning the vehicle off & restarting will bring it down by 10 mph each time. very unsafe to be unaware of the speed you are traveling!*ak | |||

| Dt: the contact owns a 2004 gmc envoy xl. while pulling into driveway at 5 mph the vehicle would not stop, it accelerated and then i hit garage. there was damage to the garage the garage door had to be replaced. the vehicle was damaged, the estimated cost to repair the vehicle was $5000. the vehicle is at the dealer . an investigation is ongoing at this time. when the tow truck came to pick the vehicle the driver noted that the brakes were all the way to the floor. ak | |||
