 The windshield wiper pump that came with the vehicle started running continuously after washing the windshield. the pump would not shut off when vehicle was shut off. after a few minutes the washer pump overheated itself and cause a small fire, i was lucky enough to get out quick. i replaced with a new washer pump and it still ran continuously, i uninstalled immediately...right now i have no way to wash my windshield and the bigger issue is the fire that we were lucky to escape any major incident.

 I traded my 2005 ford focus 26410 miles to wade raulerson gmc on october 3, 2007 wrote two checks in the amount of 500.00 each that they held for four weeks for a down payment. we looked at a 2004 gmc envoy with 65,000 miles the salesman quoted us a price of 17,000 so we did the paper work the first time on the 16th we were called in again and told we had to sign more documents this time the price of the envoy rose to 21698.35, i asked about my 05 focus was told it sold the next day and we had to have gap protection. payoff on my car was 12,502.95 and it looked as if they were giving me 14900.00 but raised the price of the truck by 4000.00. bad deal to begin with. the problems began. i had to return it at the end of the month in october 2007 to have the headlights, seatbelt, and motor in the window replaced, and diagnosed to find why the service engine light will not go out. two weeks later stranded at the daycare i had to buy a new battery. on 05/05/2008 the conditioner went out. i paid the dealership over 100.00 to tell me it would be an additional 600.00 plus dollars to repair the mode actuator door motor. october 17, 2008 i spent 375.02 to have both the shift control cable and gear shift lever removed and replaced. thank god i was actually on a parking lot when the cable broke and not in traffic. contacting wade raulerson gmc has been useless i have practically been told you bought the lemon as-is now it's your troubles! there should be a law against this type of business and not just for new cars. now no-one will touch it because of the problems it is having and the large amount that's now owed. every time the vin is pulled i get pushed out of the door faster than i can blink. btw the service engine light is still on and has been since i left the dealership. i?m tired of honest hard-working people being raked over the coals by unscrupulous dealers while they get protected by the as-is rule then laugh all the way to the bank. *tr

 I purchased a 2004 envoy with 18,000 miles in the summer of 2006. beginning in january 2007, my 3 year old son let me know that he was cold while riding in the back seat and begged that i turn off the air. turns out that the vent in the back of the car was blowing ice cold air on my son. the temperature outside was approximately 10 degrees. i called and scheduled a time to take my car into the dealership, as it was still under warranty. i found out that the vehicle had a bulletin stating that gmc was familiar that there was heat failure in the back of the cars, but the company was choosing not to do a full recall. instead, they were waiting for customers to discover the problem and bring it in for repair. they had to install a special pump, however, this still did not fix the problem. instead, it just modified the temperature of the air from approximately 20 degrees to maybe 50 degrees. not a lot of comfort in a minnesota winter. i was informed that bottom line, it was a design flaw with the vehicle, and that i could just try to force the air from the front of the car to the back seat. what is the point of having vents in the back of the car, and having a separate heating element specifically for the back of the car? i purchased this car because i thought that with the vents in the back, it would help heat the car faster in the winter, helping to keep my son warm. i do not believe that heat should be a luxury, and am disappointed that gmc would not do more to correct the problem. i want it to be known to the general public that this is a problem in the envoy and trailblazer, especially for families with small children who do not have a voice to let their parents know the icy air blowing on them. *nm

 Tl- the contact owns a 2004 gmc envoy xl. the contact stated that the windshield wipers were defective and would not shut off, causing the windshield wipers to continuously wipe the windshield without command. the dealer nor manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure was not remedied. the failure was 105,400 and the current mileage was 106,000. nw

 2004 gmc envoy wiper module assembly failure. intermittent failure of windshield wipers. failed to turn off when turned to the off position. chp helped me find and pull the fuse out to turn them off. after vehicle sits for a few days, wipers turn off. $435 for dealer replacement. vehicle was purchased on 03/05/2004, but i neglected to get it to the dealer until 03/16/2004. gmc says sorry, its out of warranty. 31k on vehicle. dealer will have replacement part in, 3 days from today.
