Defect SummaryCertain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on document search and then bus applications). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. as a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. in the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.
Corrective SummaryHoneywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. the recall began on october 18, 2006. owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1).

 Tl-the contact owns a 2005 gmc savana 1500. while the vehicle was parked he checked his spare tire while using the jack the spare tire only came down 6 inches. he stated he was unable to get the spare tire back up again. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and the mechanic had to cut the cable to get it off. he stated he had to put the spare tire in rear of the van. he stated this was dangerous driving with the spare tire down. he also had a failure with the brakes work poorly. he stated the pedal was very low. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated the brakes were fine. the brake problem continued the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic. he was advised by the mechanic that the left sensor on the left front wheel needed replacing. the mechanic replaced the hub assembly and he also replaced the rotor on the rear wheels because only half of the brake pads were being used. the back plates on the rear wheels were rusted out which in turn caused the brake pads not to function properly due to moisture and corrosion. one half of the brake pad was missing. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage mileage was 56,000 and the current mileage was 60,000. vwb
