I have a 2000 gmc serria that had brake line rust through causing brake failure. i got under the vehicle to try and change the line and found all the lines are severly rusted as is the fuel lines. yes my truck is old and i live in the rust belt of n.y but something needs to be done either n.y stop using salt or the vehicles need to be built with lines that dont rust out. this issue i think is a safety issue that would be easily fixed by either no more salt or better line in the vehicles that dont rust through.

The fuel gauge is bouncing erratically every time the vehicle is in park or neutral but in no other gear. it has been fine for years but suddenly started acting up. the truck receives regular maintenance, but the start of the problem did not coincide with any maintenance or any event. it just started happening. *tr

Fuel gauge acting very erratic and vehicle will not start have noticed online that many gmc sierra owners of similar years have experienced same problems very expensive to repair. *tr

My gas gauge on my 2000 gmc sierra pickup is acting erratic. it goes back and forth between full and empty for no apparent reason. this started about a year ago. the dealer said it was probably the sending unit in the tank and would cost approx $800 thank you...*ab *nm

Reference the recent newspaper article involving the faulty fuel gauges on vehicles.. i just purchased a 2000 gm sierra p/u truck that i later found had a defective fuel level sensor inside the tank. thinking i had a 1/2 tank of gas i got stranded on a side road 22 miles from home. it costed me a $1,000.00 to replace the unit as well as the fuel pump which are one unit. the dealer told me the problem is common on all large gm vehicles.

Excessive rust from middle of under carriage on back lead part failures. one of two straps holding up gas tank, rear strap, broke and rear of gas tank dropped about 4 inches. i was not driving the truck, just noticed then gasped. i replaced the gas tank strap. research on internet reveals excessive rust for these trucks is common. after hearing about the toyota tundras dropping a spare tire due to excessive rust, i figure a part failure possibly leading to a dropping a gas tank qualifies too. *tr

Gas gauge not responding correctly giving incorrect reading. gauge is sporadic mostly when tank is full , have some concern that electrical fire may occur due to electrical spark in fuel tank. i believe a recall should be done to correct this matter. *jb
