The parking brake on my 2000 gmc sierra will not hold. i have adjusted both the park brake shoes and cable, but it will still not hold the truck. this is the same issue that led to a recall on gmc and chevrolet pick-ups with manual transmissions, but the trucks equipped with automatic transmissions were not included. however, the park brake must be in working order to pass the nc safety inspection. *tr

The friction linings on my trucks emergency brake wore to the point that one of them seized up. i removed the brake assembly. i went to have them replaced and the mechanic said this is a normal problem with these trucks and within 18000 miles the same would happen again since gm has not come out with a fix. *jb
