Defect SummaryCertain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on document search and then bus applications). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. as a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. in the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.
Corrective SummaryHoneywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. the recall began on october 18, 2006. owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1).

 Dt*: the contact stated, while traveling on a highway at 55mph., all power failed in the vehicle. although there was not an accident, there was damage to the right fender, the compressor and the right rear tire of the vehicle while being towed. the contact incurred an injury to left knee. there was no police report filed. the vehicle was towed to a service dealer where the fuel sensor was replaced. the manufacturer recommended locations for the trailer and compressor to be repaired.

 Prior to the beginning of this problem, the vehicle was operating normally. when the vehicle was refueled to full, a strong smell of gasoline would surround the vehicle and fuel would begin to drip from under the vehicle in the area of the fuel tank. when tank was filled only partially (below 75%) only the strong smell of gasoline would occur after refueling. the vehicle was taken to a gm dealership and an inspection was performed and a crack was found in the fuel tank where the filler neck attaches to the body of the fuel tank. the fuel tank was replaced and the problem has been corrected
