Accident is in litigation; two experts have examined the tire and determined that separation caused by a manufacturing defect. bridgestone/firestone has i.d. the tire as manufactured 7th week of 1996 in decateur factory; the is no issue of under or over inflation. for more information call attorney robert kahn 650-851-6911( dot number: vdw8axc076 tire size: 265/75r16 )

The tires that i am reporting are not currently on the list of recalled tires. the problem on these tires are the same as in the recalled tires. the tires are coming apart at the tread line at the sidewall. you can see cracks and bumps at the sidewall/ tread line, and protruding steel belts. i have already filed a complaint with firestone, but have not had any return contact. it has been a month since i first contacted them. i took the tires to a dealer and was told that they were defective but the only thing that they could do was to prorate them. i told them that this was unacceptable since they were doing the same thing as the recalled tires. these tires are still in my posession if you need proof that there are more problems out there than just the tires on recall. thank you , regards, joel walton( dot number: tire size: p245/75/16 )

The first tire failure involved the tread coming completely off the vehicle. this cause significant body damage to the suburban (about $3000). we were towing a 30' trailer with both instance. the tire pressure were checked prior to departure. the second incident involved a bubble forming on the tire tread. these were the original tires that came with the vehicle.( dot number: )

TIRES - TREAD/BELT

Traveling up from va, the right rear firestone tire which is a lt245/75r16 mounted on a 1996 2500 suburban load range e tire rated at max 80 psi, was inflated to 65 psi. i felt a bobbling then the tread came off the casing, damaging the side of my suburban, ripping off the mud flap and damage the paint as it flopped around and just ripped itself off. fortunately the tire did not go flat but lost the entire tread portion. this set of four was purchase and was exact replacement from oem tire when new. there is about 80% tread on tires. firestone is telling me to run 45 psi in the front end 80 psi in the rear. i don't believe this is accurate. *nm
