| 1.unknown events lead to component failure 2. the engine hours meter resets itself down to zero...unsure of what other electronic failures could occur as a results or what is triggering the engine hour reset in the instrument panel cluster (ipc) 3. the ipc has been replaced 4 times by the dealership and they put in a new battery to remedy the issue. the unit failed again on 12/30/07. the last fix was implemented on 11/12/07. the is a gm tac case number assigned #9978027 *tr | |||

| 2006 gmc yukon xl - purchased in jan. 2006, the vehicle was taken in for service 1 month after taking delivery for foul smell emitting from vehicle while moving. it was diagnosed as the rear differential producing the odor, they changed the fluid to the old synthetic type, and claimed it was the smell of the grape seed extract used in the organic new type fluid. this did not solve the problem, the next time the service center tried an oil which had a higher heat rating, this did not fix the smell problem. on the 4th visit to the service center and after opening a customer claims case with gm, they rebuilt the rear differential. this seemed to solve the problem for about the first 6-8 months, the smell returned and got significantly worse until i opened another case withgm customer claims. while working with them the differential went out on the vehicle leaving me to rent a car on my own until gm decided what they were going to do about it. i am currently in a bbb case with gm. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2006 gmc yukon xl 1500. while driving 60 mph the right front tire side wall blew out. the contact lost control of the vehicle; however, he was able to drive to the nearest service station. the vehicle was towed and three tires were replaced. the tire dealer advised him to speak with the manufacturer regarding the failed tire. the failure and the current mileages were 25,358. the tire was firestone, tire line wilderness le, size p-265-70-r16, and the dot is 11m-s. | |||
