FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

I was driving on delaware route # 1 doing the speed limit (65mph) in my 2004 gmc yukonxl when i lost power to the vehicle. fortunately i was able to pull off of the highway on the right shoulder even within fast moving traffic. after assessing the situation i realize that my motor was still running with the dash indicators showing the engine light and the reduced power signal light on. when traffic had cleared i attempted to go back on the highway but found i could only travel between 35-40 miles per hour. knowing that there was a gm dealer ahead in 15-20 miles i continued on rt #1 since the speed limit ahead was reduced to 55mph. when i reached the gm dealer i.g.burton in milford delaware i immediately went to their service department. i explained my situation and was told that i probably had a bad throttle body (carburetor) and that it would have to be replaced. they seemed to say that this has been a common problem. i went ahead and had the work done at that point for a cost of $568.32. *tr

This vehicle continues to leave us on the side of the road. we have been told by the dealer it is the fuel pump. they have replaced 3 times now but still stalling, won't start, dies while driving, etc... so far the problem has not been corrected, the dealer just keeps changing the fuel pump. they tell us gm knows there is a problem with the fuel pumps on these suv's. *nm
