Defect SummaryOn certain travel trailers and fifth wheels equipped with samsung microwave ovens, these units were produced with a defective panel. an electrical short can occur between circuit patterns on the membrane panel, especially overlapped by a jumper or jump wire. this may cause the oven to activate without pressing any key pads.
Consequence SummaryAn electrical short can occur causing the oven to activate without pressing any key pads. this could result in excessive heat, smoke, or possibly a fire.
Corrective SummarySamsung will notify customers and repair the panel free of charge. in the meantime, consumers should unplug their microwave, if possible. if the consumer is unable to unplug the microwave, they should leave the door ajar until the panel is replaced. consumers should never use the microwave oven for storage or leave any towels, paper, cloth or other products in the microwave after use. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact samsung at 800-932-3837 or gulf stream at 574-773-7761.

TIRES

I purchased a rv, 5th wheel, on 4/25/02. it came with carlisle st225/75r15 load range c tires. the dot manufacturing date was 4501. when returning home from a vacation on september 1st, 2005 had a blowout on one of the tires. i have always maintained the recommend tire pressure (50#), and checked them often for defects. the inside wall separated from the tread, and the outside wall had a 10 hole and tread separation. the blown tire never rode on the ground it was supported and suspended by the wheel in front of it. these tires have 7200 miles on them and the tread wear is not noticeable. the side wall construction looked good -- but was apparently less durable than the tread. these tires should have a side wall that would last at least as long as the tread. i believe this situation has caused many trailers to turnover. *ak

TIRES - TREAD/BELT
07/29/200510000209/15/2002
I had cooper roadmaster lt 245 75 r 16 as original equipment on my fifth wheel trailer. from the dot number, i believe that these tires were manufactured in january, 2001. the tires have less than 10,000 miles on them. tires were inflated to maximum pressure (80 psi), and trailer had been weighed at a public scale to ensure that it was below the maximum carrying capacity of the tires. on july 13, i experienced the first blow out while driving approximately 70 mph on the interstate. the tread separated from the tire, causing property damage to my rv. i took the tire to discount tire company in broomfield, co, where they replaced the tire. the second tire failed on july 29th, under similar conditions. the tread again separated from the tire, causing further property damage. i took that tire to walmart in fort morgan, co, where i replaced the tire. i also replaced the two remaining tires on the rv due to concern of another failure. both failures occurred during travel to vacation, so i was unable to retain the tires. i did take pictures of the second tire incident. *nm
