Defect SummaryGulf stream is recalling certain motorhomes equipped with norcold model 1200lr, 1200lrim, and 1201lrim refrigerators with serial numbers between 1273701 and 1536607, non-consecutively. a fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak. if a leak occurs and the refrigerator continues to be operated after solution circulation has ceased the heat source could generate very high temperatures. at such high temperatures, the cooling unit could rupture.
Consequence SummaryIf a leak occurs and the unit continues to operate, hydrogen gas may be expelled and can be ignited, resulting in a fire, possibly causing serious injury or death.
Corrective SummaryGulf stream is working with norcold and the vehicle's refrigerator will be repaired free of charge. please also see norcold's defect notice 09e-027. the safety recall began on october 20, 2009. owners may contact gulf stream at 1-800-289-8787 or norcold's recall center at 1-800-767-9101.

Consequence SummaryExtended operation of a leaking cooling unit could lead to a fire from gas which might escape.

Consequence SummaryRelease of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
Corrective SummaryGulf stream will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist you in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. the recall began on june 28, 2007. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or gulf stream at 1-574-773-7761.

Defect SummaryCertain motor home chassis fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 105, hydraulic and electric brake systems. the brake system warning indicator may not function as required by standard.
Consequence SummaryIn some of the affected vehicles, the brake system warning indicator will not illuminate when the ignition is in the start position or for a low brake fluid condition, if the body builder relied solely upon ford's ivm compliance statement for the brake system warning indicator.
Corrective SummaryDealers will repair the brake warning lamp circuit. owner notification is began may 1, 2003. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact gulf stream at 1-574-773-7761.

Consequence SummaryIn the event that these angle brackets would fail, the hitch and the tow vehicle could become dislodged from the motor home increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryGulf stream has developed a repair kit consisting of steel brackets, spacers, and mechanical fasteners. this kit can be sent directly to you or to a repair facility of your choosing. owner notification is expected to begin during september 2003. owners should contact gulf stream at 1-800-482-6456, ext. 3743.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2002 gulf stream sun voyager motor home. the contact stated he receive a recall notice nhtsa campaign id number: 03v092000 component: service brakes, hydraulic: switches: brake warning. workhorse chassis recall number 50901-c. the contact was driving 45 mph and coming to a stop sign he depress the brake pedal and the brake went all the way to the floor causing the vehicle to not stop and went through the stop sign. the vehicle gear had to be down shifted into other gears to stop the vehicle. there were damages to the entire brake system on the front and the rear of the brakes. the brakes were very hot causing them to smoke and was on fire. the recall stated they should repair the linings, the rotors and other components if they were damaged due to the failed part. the dealer stated they will repair the brake pads, rotor, and rear axle seal and complete all the brake failure for the amount of $563. the contact stated the recall stated he should not be charged for these parts. the dealer was holding his vehicle hostage until he pays. the manufacturer was notified and he spoke with the regional representative who stated he should pay for the repairs although it stated on the recall that the repairs were free of charge. the contact stated the regional representative was the person that sends him to that dealer. the dealer continued to inform him he should pay for the repairs that was included in the recall. the failure mileage was 23,000. mw ## vin passed ## 2002 gulfstream sun voyager ##

 Tl-the contact owns a 2002 gulf stream sun voyager motor home. there was a recall on the work horse chassis brakes and the dealer has no parts to repair them. there was a brake failure previously which contact stated he repaired himself but the parts he received from the dealer was defective. whenever he contacted the dealer for the new parts he was told they have not arrived and are still on back order. the manufacturer could not be reach. the failure mileage was 24,000....mw

 Dt*: the contact stated the abs light intermittently illuminates. a nhtsa recall, #04v084000 was performed on the vehicle concerning, the service brakes, hydraulic however, the recall did not remedy the problem. the dealership would not offer a second repair without charge under the recall. an independent mechanic has made several attempts under warranty to make the abs light go off without success. *ak
