On 7/19/2006 i purchased on new 2007 harley davidson road king classic.. it was delivered on july 20th. on august 5th, with about 275 miles on the odometer, the motorcycle completely stalled while driving with a passenger in traffic on an arterial roadway. we managed to pull over to the curb lane. i checked the gas tank, which was 2/3 full. i then switched off the run switch and the ignition switch, turned them back on and restarted the vehicle. after about two miles, the engine died again. i followed the same sequence and the bike restarted. finally, and coincidentally, the engine stalled a third time one block from the harley davidson dealer where i purchased the bike. i could not re-start it this time, and so we walked to the dealers. they towed the vehicle to their shop and after about an hour or so, they replicated the problem. (initially, the motorcycle seemed to be operating ok.) according to the service department, their diagnostic equipment could not pinpoint the problem, and so they wanted to contact the manufacturer on monday aug 7th for advice. as of today, august 8th, there is no resolution to the problem and it remains at the dealers service department. i am hesitant to drive the bike until i⿿m convinced that this problem is absolutely fixed due to the obvious safety implications of a motorcycle stalling unexpectedly. i suspect that the problem lies with the new security system introduced this year, which is installed on this bike, although it could be something else as well. note that your data base did not allow entry of 2007 harley davidson flhrc so i entered as a 2006 flhrci. *nm
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

I have a 2006 roadking classic with 10,609 miles. mileage when problem started was 9,837. while riding in the black hills, going down a 6% grade, the engine dies and the speedometer dropped to 0. i coasted to the bottom of the grade and pulled off onto the shoulder of the road. when i stopped, the fuel pump pumped up, the check engine light came on and went off, and i started the bike and went on. about 3 days later it done it again, again going down a steep grade. this time i pulled in the clutch and flipped the engine kill switch off and on and the electric came back. i started the bike and went on. it did it a total of three times in ten days, and each time i was going down a grade. i took it to dodge city harley davidson, they checked it and could not find anything wrong. i was passing a vehicle the 2nd time and was just pulling in front of him when it died out. not a good thing or feeling going 65mph. does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? *tr
STEERING
05/21/200640201
Traveling north on hwy 101 near king city i rode my 2006 harley davidson road king classic over an asphalt patch at approx 70 to 75 mph. the front end began to wobble violently. i thought i had a front tire blow out. i slowed to approx. 45 mph before i could regain control. two riders behind me witnessed the event and were sure i was going down. this on a bike with less than 4000 miles on it. looking on the internet i see that this has been a problem with other riders as well and in one case led to the death of a state trooper. i went to my dealership and told them of the experience which they promptly told me they had never heard of such a thing. i have an appointment on may 30th to have it serviced. hopefully they will pinpoint a cause however i get the feeling they are going to blow me off. i feel that this is a very dangerous condition that has been allowed to continue probably due to settlement requirements that the plaintiff remain silent about the engineering defect. i want to go on record now so if anything happens to me harley davidson can't say they were not made aware of any problems. i have been riding for over 25 years, the only thing that saved me was that guardian angel sitting on my shoulder. *nm

I was the proud owner of 2006 road king classic. i pampered my bike, had it serviced by the harley davidson dealership, and had it for 2 years. after 5000 miles, (hardly excessive use) a strong wobble develop and it got worse at almost any speed. i took the bike to be checked at hacienda harley davidson dealership in scottsdale az in june of 2008 which at the time the service manager showed me the loose rear wheel spokes. my concern was not only about the wobble but would it cause an accident? the manager suggested to replace the rear wheel (
