I own a flhtpi. i applied the front brake on the day listed. i was very lucky that i was only going 4 or 5 miles an hour. the front brake lever moved all the way up to the handle bar at which point the front brakes completly failed allowing the bike to continue to move forward.i pumped the front brake lever several times and got some presure back.i took the bike the dealer where one front pad was missing from the backing plate and the other came apart while changing the pads. i could have very easily been injured or killed

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this, but i'll try it any way. i received a letter from harley-davidson dated 3/11/08. it was about a recall concerning abs brakes. i made an appointment for the following month 4/12/08. i took the bike in and was told that the parts were on back order. on 4/25/08 i called harley davidson 1-414-343-4056 and was told that they were waiting on a vendor for parts to fix the problem ,and they had no estimated time of arrival for the parts. it has been two months since i received the recall letter . how long should i have to wait for a resolution to this recall? *tr
