| Event leading to failure: normal riding. the failure the fuel gauge on my 2007 harley davidson vrscdx doesn't work any of the time . it is very frustrating to spend so much money on a vehicle & have things not work as there supposed to. i have contacted my local hd dealer & have been told no known fix has been sent out from the motor co.that is just outrageous to think that harley davidson wont stand behind there product when they charge so much for them . please help !! sincerely shane | |||

| Intermitent fuel gauge readings. happened durring warranty, not repaired by harley davidson. very dangerous when it tells you you have half a tank and the engine shuts down at high speeds. | |||

| I have a 2007 harley vrscdx motorccle. the fuel gauge has an intermittent poblem where at various fuel leves it will drop to empty or full. it began before the warranty was void but because it was intermittent the dealer said they couldn't fix it and to bring it back when the problem is occurring. i have never been near the dealer when the problem occurs and have not been able to force it to happen. it has twice provided wrong readings that resulted in being stranded on a highway in traffic. the fuel gauge or sending unit is not reliable at all. being on a busy highway on a motorcycle out of gas in the carpool lane is not a safe place to be... | |||

| The fuel gauge shows fuel when empty. this happens constantly and can be hazards on busy highways and bridges. i own a 2007 harley davidson night rod special and my understanding is that harley davidson has been aware of the problem for some time but has done nothing to fix the problem. | |||

| Fuel gauge reads full then seems to stick at halfway then you are mislead to believe you have half a tank when you do not. then low fuel light comes on and needle drops to empty. | |||
