Defect SummaryTwo latches mounted on each side of the rear engine access cover and secure the cover when the motorhome is in transit were not positioned correctly.

Defect SummaryThe federal certification label incorrectly states the gross axle weight rating (gawr) causing the load ratings for the tires and tire pressures to be wrong. this does not comply with fmvss no. 120, tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars.
Consequence SummaryConsequence of non-compliance: incorrect tires and tire inflation can result in tire failure and possible vehicle accident.
Corrective SummaryOwners will sent replacement certification labels and instructions for replacing them. if they prefer, owners can have their dealers replace these labels for them.

Defect SummaryHigh temperatures produced by the generator exhaust pipe can result in heat distortion and subsequent rupture of the air lines. a rupture would cause a malfunction of the instrument panel air pressure gauges and/or engagement of the manual parking/emergency brake.
Consequence SummaryIf the air line ruptures, the manualparking/emergency brake will engage, abruptly stopping the vehicle without warning, which can cause an accident.

Defect SummaryImproper torque of the retaining bolts and nuts of the steering column slip shaft, which provides the connecting link between the upper steering column and the steering gear box, may cause the steering column slip shaft to separate at either the upper or lower connection of the shaft.
Consequence SummarySeparation of the steering column slip shaft at either the upper or lower connection of the shaft results in loss of steering control. this could occur without warning and result in a vehicle crash.
Corrective SummaryInspect and retorque the slip shaft retaining bolts and nuts. however, if, after the inspection, the bolts and nuts are found to be loose or overtorqued, new bolts and nuts will be installed and properly torqued.

Defect SummaryThe storage compartment at the rear of the unit does not have a specified storage weight limitation and can therefore be loaded beyond the manufacturer's intentions. also some units were designed with a fresh water tank located at the rear of the unit. as a result, these trailers exhibit reduced stability while being towed.
Consequence SummaryOverloading of the rear storage compartment especially with a full, rear-mounted fresh water tank, can cause reduced trailer stability and increase the potential for an accident.
Corrective SummaryDealers will place a label on the storage compartment to indicate the maximum storage weight capacity, will relocate the fresh water tank on the affected models, and install a hensley arrow hitch which will provide a better towing stability. the hensley arrow hitch will not be a required part for the remedy on the 1995 aluma-lite 31cfs travel trailer due to the unit's shorter length.

Upon arriving in san antonio, tx from md, we had a 3 gap between the trailer body and floor. we contacted hrc. they refered us to holiday world in houston, tx for investigation and repairs as may needed. at that time the cause was not known so any warraty coverage was in guestion. after our 10 day commentment in san antonio, we proceeded to houston slowly. hoilday worlds finding was astomishing. the factroy had never bolted the frame to the trailer body! hrc did agree to pay for the necessary labor and material costs to bolt the trailer together, but would not reinburse us for our 3 weeks of living expenses while we waited for this work to be completed.
05/25/1998201/01/1994
Prepairing to travel north after our winter stay in south fl, we discovered that the body was seperating from the frame again. we could look into the gap and see that the elevator bolt heads that were to hold the unit togther had pulled through the base channel of the body frame structure. hrc again wanted us to take the unit to a dealer for inspection. rhone's had been no help with these ongoing structure problemsin the past. we decided that we would delay inspection untill we arrived in tx in october. in july we found that we could not open the front curb side door without first jacking up the rear of the trailer. the door dead bolt lock could no longer be used. at the same time, due to a damaging water leak, we discovered that the roof had cracked over the passage door. we patched the cracked, but have not been able to repaid the custom fabicated and perminately installed counter on the front curb side of the unit. we would continue traveling until we reached tx and hoilday world of houston.
