Defect SummaryOn certain class a motor homes, the floor truss network support system has a potential to weaken causing internal and external features to become misaligned. the affected vehicles are 1999 - 2003 class a motor homes manufactured on f53 20,500 pound gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr), ford chassis, and 2000-2003 class a motor homes manufactured on w-22 22,000 pound gvwr, workhorse chassis.
Consequence SummaryConditions can result in the bottoming out the suspension and amplification of the stress placed on the floor truss network. the additional stress can result in the fracture of welds securing the floor truss network system to the chassis frame rail and/or fracture of the floor truss network support system. the possibility exists that there could be damage to electrical wiring and/or fuel lines which could potentially lead to a fire.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect the floor truss network support system, reinforce the existing structure, and repair, as needed, the floor truss network support. owner notification began november 5, 2002. owners should contact monaco at 1-800-685-6545.

 Consumers bathroom mirror was attached to the wall by staples. the mirror was glass and fell off the wall and broke. consumer feels screws should have been used instead of the staples. the mirror has been replaced. *jg *nlm

 Windshield is not tightly secured by gasket at upper left corner. on a daily basis, when operating vehicle, the windshield/gasket works its way out. i must continually stop and pull the gasket & windshield back into place. on occasion, the gasket has come loose up to 12 inches on the vertical and 18 inches on the horizontal. this is a serious safety issue as the windshield could come out completely endangering the driver and passenger. the manufacture was contacted several times and informed me that they were unfamiliar with this problem. no solution was offered. *jb

 Lrt request investigation into failure of 3 the 6 tires on 2000 holiday rambler endeavor motor home. *bf while driving the driver's side front tire blewout. the two rear curb side tires failed in april of 2004. the consumer has contacted the manufacturer and dealer but neither party would taken and responsibility for the failure. the consumer request $2,100. for the replacement of all 6 tires and $1000. for estimated repair of damages to the curb side wheel well (dot number of three of the original tires including one of the failed tires, dot b6h6ak3x419, dot b6h6ak3x429, dot b6h6ak3x429). *nm

 Zipper blowout on michelin 255 r80 22.5 xrv front right and front left tires at two separate times. first on 7/24/04 hwy i- 64, n.carolina holiday rambler (2000)endeavor 40' tvl speed about 60 mph. outer sidewall ruptured, 13,302 miles. second blowout, front left on 8/10/04, hwy i-94, wisconsin, 14,498 miles 60 mph. confirmed coach within vehicle gvw, tire pressure has been maintained at correct level according to michelin product bulletin rec'd in 2000 (before we began using the vehicle on the road). michelin asked to cover cost of tire replacements. offered to pay for first blowout cost verbally, gave 5 days to accept verbal offer unless we had vehicle weighed on cert. scale. we requested written notice, michelin rep refused to provide info in writing via their legal dept. and revoked any further consideration over and above initial offer to pay for 1st tire cost this was after we had cert.scale documentation. (we were not overweight.) along with cost of tire replacement, the right wheel panel was blown off, and we will have to pay cost of repair/restoration. *ak
