Car was making squeaking noise when driving brought car to dealership they state at 7400 miles fron brakes need to be replaced. this is rediculous. they say it is from aggressive driving this is nuts they will no cover replacement of pads and tell me it is from rear brakes not being adjusted.

I own a 2003 honda accord and on 5/16/2011 i was driving back from the office when my car wipers suddenly stopped working. it was a rainy day with heavy t-storm. when the wipers stopped working, i suddently lost control of the car and crashed into a ramp. in the accident i damaged my front bumper and hurt my back. the next day morning wipers starting working again. over the next 5 days, i noticed this new trend in my vehicle caused by the sudden disruption of wipers. i am extremely worried about the malfunctioning of the wipers since this is our family car and it is a big threat to our safety. there was a recall on approx 351,000 2003 honda accords wiper motors. my recall was completed successfully but the recall has not fixed the problem and my local honda dealer refuses to change the wiper motor second time without authorization from honda automobiles. i am seeking your help to get the issue resolved. recall details: nhtsa campaign id number : 08v169000

I have a 2007 honda fit which has been leaking water in the passenger back floor area for over a year now. it began over a year ago and was sent to the dealership numerous times. it was accumulatiing over a 6 inches of rain and became moldy and smelled horrible. i explained my concerns to the delearship regarding the leak and mold health hazards. especially having my newborn in the car with me. they could not figure out the problem after repeated attempted to take the car apart.. the last time it was there was in april 2010 and they allegedly fixed the problem. we have not had a huge amount of rain since then (except for alot of snot). the other day after a huge rain storm i noticed a distinct mildew smell. once again the floor underneath my all weather mats was completely soaked. (directly under my 15 mo old's carseat.) i have taken it back to the dealership for an unrelated recall and they said they don't know what the issue could be. i am at my wits end and cannot expose my child to this moldy health hazard any longer. i am looking into my rights as a consumer and would appreciate any assistance in this matter.

I own a 2001 honda odyssey. i had transmission problems in 2006 that ended in the dealership replacing the transmission. i had 53,000 miles on it. last week (1/3/11), the 2nd transmission failed. i was driving home from work accelerating up a hill when i lost all forward gears. i pulled over to the side of the road and placed the vehicle in park. all of my forward gears were gone. i was able to drive thr remainder of the way in reverse. i have 95,000 on the vehicle. american honda corporation will take no responsibility for the problem. i feel the vehicle could have caused a major wreck if i had been attempting a merge onto the highway. i am very upset with this and want nhtsa to take action against honda. the class action lawsuit of 2006 did not fix the problem.

The 2003 honda pilot i own is on it's second transmission. the vehicle becomes disabled and the d light flashes on the dash indicating the transmission has failed. the honda dealer says that the transmission must be replaced again. two transmissions at only 127, 500 is a sign of problems with the design and manufacture of the transmission itself. i believe honda should recall all 2003 & 2004 honda pilot for transmission replacement for the remainder of the useful life of the vehicle.

This is my 2002 honda accord 2nd transmission torque converter to fail. i was on the turnpike going 60 mph when my speed started to drop to 0 rapidly. the large trucks behind me was able to go around me in just the nick of time. i thank god we were not killed or anyone else hurt. this is a safety issue. i have found there is a problem with the transmission from 1999 to 2002 with honda accords. when the torque converter goes out the car does not know to go faster. the speed just drops without any control. the engine is working hard to make the car go forward. the torque converter goes out without any type of warning. i had a new transmission put in at 71,000 miles it's 146,000 later and the same problem has happened to my car. i would hate to see anyone get seriously hurt or killed with this serious problem. i just had my transmission rebuilted because american honda is not making new tranmission for cars built from 1999 to 2002.

My 2001 honda odyssey transmission failed at 87000 miles lynnwood honda dealer sold and installed a rebuilt transmission for $3600. the rebuilt transmission failed in less than a year at 37000 miles. i believe they installed a faulty transmission. honda says they won't assist me. results: i lost $3600 dollars on the repair. plus i have a van worth $7000(kbb) that doesn't work. total loss $11000.

2007 honda civic sun visors split open and will not stay up. the visor then dangles down in the driver's face and partially obstructs vision. from online complaint forums, appears to happen in 2006 and 2008s too. although there may be a tech bulletin, the dealer would not replace, and the problems appears to happen on replacements as well.

2006 honda crv. have replaced drivers side sunvisor 4 times, waiting on number 5. after anywhere from 2 months to 1 year the sunvisor will not stay up in place. creeps back down instantly and cannot see out of windshield even with visor pushed all the way towards windshield. offers no use, and when trying to use it obstructs view and is very dangerous. if visors are required, then this one is a failure. have noted others on the honda crv owners club forum with same problem. have asked that they also file with nhtsa. to be clear, when stored away in normal position it stays in place, when trying to pull it down and push towards windshield when sun is in face, it pushes to windshield then instantly flops back down to position where it obscures the view out the windshield. replacements work fine for short period of time. they have warrantied 3 times, and i have had to buy twice as it was just over 1 year before i took it in. i have and old part that was replaced when i had to purchase out of warranty. the kept the other parts, but have no explanation for fix.

There was a recall on transmissions for my 2000 acura tl. in 2005 i had 86,000 miles on it and honda replaced my transmission with a brand new one due to recall. five years later i have 178,000 miles (92,000 on transmission) and i am in need of another transmission. my transmission is showing the exact same problems as it did five year earlier. second gear slipping and discoloration. this time honda/acura will not replace or even help pay for a replacement which was also faulty. i also spoke to another person who had to put three transmissions in her 2000 honda accord. it is unacceptable for a company to replace a defect with another defected piece and not stand behind the replacement that was supposed to be fixed.

My airbag light came on in my 2003 honda accord. the dealership told me that this was due to an open circuit in the driver's side airbag inflator as well as a the drivers side seat belt buckle switch. i had these fixed and the light came on again on my way home. the dealership checked again and could not find out what was wrong and sent me home after resetting the light. the light came on the next day that i drove my car and when i called the dealership wants to charge me for another diagnostic fee. american honda said that there is no recall on my model, although there are recalls on other years for the same problem. p.s. the model number for the equipment is not in the dropdown menu, but on my paperwork it has 06788-sda-a82. once i started writing 0 in the field it automatically picked something else beginning with a 0.

Transmission failure - gears would not engage in a 2003 honda accord. gears shifted and revved back up then shot back down. almost got killed by tractor trailer that was behind me. i was on thornton rd. which is a two lane major roadway, which is heavily traveled by large trucks for industrial purposes. the area of roadway is very dark. i am a police officer and what i just experienced in my 2003 honda accord scared me half to death. i can't even imagine what may have happened to me if i didn't think quickly. thank god my children were not in the car with me at the time of the incident. honda needs to seriously address this problem immediately before someone gets killed or badly injured. a teenager with minimal driving skills would have panicked and may not have known what to do. this is very serious situation and someone needs to be held accountable. honda now has a reputation for their vehicles having severed transmission problems. they continue to overlook the problem as if it is not there. what will it take for them to address this issue now? toyota should be the example! also, there was no warning to this! no orange or red indicator light that something was in need of being looked at. something is very wrong here! *tr

While driving north on the new jersey turnpike with my wife and our 5 children at a steady speed of 60 mph, there was a snap/jerking motion felt and slight rubber smell and the van immediately lost acceleration. there was steady traffic i had to negotiate through to get our van safely off the interstate. this is the second transmission needing to be replaced in our 2001 honda odyssey and i have contacted honda north america to correct this problem and they will not do so because the warranty had expired for the last replacement. please contact me to advise of recourse options i have with this problem. thanking you in advance for your assistance. *tr

I have a 2006 honda odyssey and the ac suddenly stop blowing cold air. i later found out that the condenser was damaged by the rock hitting it while driving on a highway. i noticed that there are a lot of people who own an odyssey also experience a similar problem. this is consider as a design problem from honda not having any protection to the condenser as rocks can hit the condenser from the highway and damage it. this cost me almost $800 to fix. i have 2 small children and eventhough i got it fixed, the condenser can get damaged anytime as there is nothing protecting it. *tr

We were driving south on the interstate highway with myself, wife and granddaughter who was in the back seat, in our 2003 honda ex accord v6 with 78,000 miles on the odometer. the traffic congestion was moderate to heavy with semi-truck and trailers in front of us and behind us. we were traveling at 65mph in drive when the automatic transmission failed and went from drive to low gear. the automobile locked up the back tires and made a screeching sound and the smell of burnt rubber and heat was prevalent inside the car. after nearly being hit in the back of the car, we put on our emergency flashers and proceeded to the next off ramp. although an attempt was made to drive in the high gear, the drive transmission would go back to low. after calling a tow truck to have our car delivered to honda dealership, they confirmed that the automatic transmission had failed and would require replacement. the overall cost to us with rental, tow, and new transmission was approximately $3,700.00. we were not reimbursed for repairs for the transmission failure. this was not user abuse or normal wear and in my opinion this failure can only be characterized as a honda engineering defect and safety issue.*tr

2003 honda civic hybrid. original owner car has 52 k. recently i experienced a near death accident because the engine rapidly accelerated by itself as i exited a slight uphill driveway. as i approached the end of the driveway i stopped before turning onto the road, i heard a thud or clunk and then the car lurched and sped rapidly into the road which was wet from rain. the car skidded and fishtailed l tried to apply the brakes but they were unresponsive. i tried the emergency brake which did not respond either. the car did a 360 turn and had gone almost 200 yards from where it exited the driveway. the engine sounded like it was going to blow up. i could smell smoke. all of this happened in under 30 seconds. by some merciful force, the car hit the mud embankment on the side of the road and thankfully no other cars were on the road. i jumped out of the car because the engine was still racing and i could not turn it off, i ran across the road because i wasn't sure if the car would blow up or keep going. after a few seconds i ran over again and could turn it off but the emergency lights did not work . the car was towed to the oakland, ca honda dealer where i purchased it. they performed a basic diagnostic test and told me the car is ok to drive and nothing is visibly wrong with it except for the dent on the front bumper. they have closed the case. in the past this car has been serviced several times for a recall due to a problem with the cvt (continuously variable transmission) because it judders after coming to a stop. i do not believe that honda has adequately researched my case. a car should not accelerate as mine did and i believe that the fact this model has already had a recall on the transmission warrants a more than cursory evaluation. honda is risking the safety of hundreds and thousands of peoples safety by not trying to determine why my vehicle sped out of control by itself. i plan to investigate further in thanks that i am alive. *tr

My 2006 civic lx coupe has had problems with the windshield visors. i place a windshield shade daily when i park my car at work and use the visor to hold the shade in place. i've been having problems with the visor not being able to stay up because the plastic part that surrounds the rod splits open and the visor will not stay in the up position. a co-worker has a 2007 civic and has had the same problem. the dealer replaced his visors and they told him that there was a bulletin on this issue. my civic has 39000 miles and so i've passed the 36000 mile warranty limit. the dealer said that my warranty period is over since i was over 36000 miles. i have read that there have been a few complaints about this visor problem and i feel that this can cause a visibility problem. i understand that the warranty is over, but the visor has nothing to do with mileage. *tr

In the beginning of august, my honda fit would not start. i would have to jump start the car everytime to turn it on so i took it to service on aug. 16th to fix it. they found that the battery had dead cells and needed to be replaced. on sept. 3 they called me and said the car was ready but they put a different battery in it that was not made for my car. it was made for a fit but not mine. the battery is alot smaller than the original one. i explained to her that i did not want any problems with it because i have two young kids that are always with me in the car and i didn't want anything to happen to them. she told me nothing would happen but she had to put that battery in the car because they were not willing to pay for my courtesy rental anymore and that if something does for me to tow my car back there and they would take care of it. i need a car to get to and from work and for my fiance to take our two kids where they need to go. i took pictures of what the new installed battery looks like because you can tell that it was forced into the spot because the negative and positive wires weren't long enough so they forced it on. this is very unsafe for any driver to endure. *tr

We own a 2007 honda civic dx which has had a chronic problem with the driver's side sun visor failing twice before and, now, both the driver's side and passenger's side sun visors have failed. each time a honda dealer has replaced the defective part. the safety issue is that, with the driver's side malfunctioning, the driver has to hold the visor out of his / her line of site leaving only one hand to drive the car. the manufacturer has been contacted and has said it will replace the defective part as it occurs, however, this part should be examined and re-engineered to give consistent, safe service. *tr

On thursday, may 8, 2008, i purchased a brand new honda metropolitan scooter from lake city power sports at 12048 lake city way n.e., seattle, wa 98125. in a matter of four days, a number of incidents have occurred. immediately after leaving the store, i noticed the mirror was loose. my boyfriend, anthony shears, took the scooter to the shop the next day, friday may 9, to get it tightened. again, the mirror came loose and anthony had to bring it back a second time for tightening. on saturday may 10, anthony went to the shop again because the blinker was stuck. although the blinker switch was in the right place (in the middle which should result in no blinking), the right blinker wouldn't stop. also on saturday we noticed the speedometer and odometer had stopped working. *tr

My 99 honda accord ex cuts off while traveling down the road without warning. this is due to ignition sensor which i corrected shortly after buying my car with rick hendrick honda. now years later there is a recall on the ignition interlock. but, honda will not fix the ignition senor because it has nothing to do with the recall. certainly this is a serious safety matter and i feel it's unfair that honda will only fix half of the problem and burden the cost to me. i don't think i'm alone with this type of problem. please investigate this matter. i feel i shouldn't have to pay for this ignition sensor. i had the recall ignition interlock fix at honda of columbia, p.o. box 8234 , columbia, sc 29202. *tr

Ref: nhtsa campaign 02v120000 for 1998 honda odyssey. the ignition switch in my car was replaced in the recall of 2002. i was not having problems then. however, last fall (2009) and this winter (2010) i was experiencing sudden stalls and in some cases dangerous situations when accelerating at intersections, pulling out into traffic etc. my honda dealer, in march 2010, could not id the problem. i took the car in the same month to an independent mechanic who first thought it was distributor related. they replaced that part. the problem continued. i returned it right away and they did the research to id the problem as the ignition switch. it is now may 12 and there have been no instances of sudden stalls. problem fixed.

In november 2005, the driver side automatic seatbelt on my 1991 honda accord coupe (ex) started malfunctioning and would not retract to the driving position. there was an annoying beeping sound associated with this malfunction. the local honda dealer (in st. thomas vi) informed me that they didn't know what the problem was, and quoted 4 parts costing over $1,411.62, and they couldn't guarantee me that these replacements would work. so they disconnected the seat belt motor (under the passenger seat), manually moved the seat belt into the driving position, and also disconnected some other seat belt electronic part behind the driver seat near the handle and storage compartment of the back seat, behind a sort of panel in that area. over two years later in 2008, the driver side lap belt release button broke and fell inside the seat belt clip preventing me from locking the seat belt in place. i started researching the problem on line and found there was a voluntary honda recall for that problem. i had to fight with the dealer to get them to admit that this was a problem they should fix, and they did; but forcefully stated that the automatic seatbelt problem was not covered. in looking in their computer system, i realized that they had misrepresented that i chose not to fix the automatic seat belt problem in 2005. i refuted the accuracy of the statement. i was billed $26.38 and received no specific diagnosis so i demanded a quote to fix it. that's when i was told it would cost over $630 for the part and $50 or $75 for the labor. i had to insist that they give me an estimate with the part no. in checking with another dealer, i was able to buy the part for $362 (incl. s/h). i paid the labor to dealer to have it put in, and the problem was fixed. about april 2009, i started getting occasional beeps and sticking of the seatbelt again, but it would reset itself. since last week, around dec. 2, 2009, it's sticking constantly. i can't pay for this again; honda should pay. *tr

While parking my car in my garage, i had put it in park and took my foot of the brake pedal, my 2007 honda accord sedan lunged forward hitting my drywall, solar water heater, washer and dryer then it jumped back and stopped. i was so stunned as i didn't know what was happening here. instantly the car decided to go in reverse at an accelerated rate down the hill of my driveway hitting the concrete side of my neighbor's garage, their car and bounced forward up the hill to hit my house again and stopped at the crest of the hill. the car is totaled. state farm insurance hired an investigator sea that decided that there are no deficiencies yet they failed to look at the transmission, electronic control module, powertrain only reviewed the brakes, tires, throttle. can you help me. after reviewing an article of the toyotas and how they and other manufacturers have gone to a new electronic throttle control module which has resulted in the same type of problem, i accelerated as my foot was on the brake the whole time and the shift gear was in park. this needs to be investigated further . possible new recall. there are several other incidents listed on the honda malfunctions complaint page under 2007 honda accords with the same type of problems, cars being totaled and what recourse do we have as consumers? obviously state farm isn't going to pursue it with honda just charge to me as an accident and probably drop me and raise my rates sky high. i need help on how to pursue this further. $10,000 damage to my house, car totaled @ $18,000+, and $19,000+ damage to my neighbor's house. luckily no children were out and no deaths occurred as a result of this. the only air bag that deployed were the side curtains not the driver's side either. *tr

I had the ignition switch replaced in 2002 under the recall warranty. now 7years later(2009)120,000miles, i am having the symptoms of a bad ignition switch. while driving the engine just quits. it will start after several attempts. it will run fine for about 3-4 weeks and quit again. i talked with a honda repair man and he said the warranty replacement switches in 2002 are starting to fail now. *tr

The ignition system fails in my 1998 honda accord. it has already been through the recall process for the same problem (03v423000). design problems were obviously not corrected. the recall appears to have replaced existing parts with new parts that are the same. car cuts out due to failure of ignition circuit to be completed. this can occur anywhere. it has happened driving down the road at 60 mph. sitting for 1 minute will sometimes correct the situation. jiggling the key will sometimes correct the situation. can result in dangerous situations in traffic. *tr

Bought this 99 honda accord dx 4 door 5 speed back in 2006 from a honda dealership. in the end of 2007 the car shut off on the high way while i was driving!!! thank god i didn't get into an accident! it then happened again a month later! it then happened quite frequently till i could no longer let the key go without it shutting off! when the car shuts off everything stops, including power steering!!! very dangerous!!! we looked over the car and looked online and found my car had a recall on it. we called honda's 1800 number and they told us the car had already been recalled and fixed in 2002 so they didn't have to do anything for us!!! so why then a couple of years later would the same problem be happening!? i am scared that if i go and have it fixed it will just shut off on me again in four years, or less!? did they just replace the faulty part with another faulty part?! i have read some of the forums on line and they seem to indicate that it could be the wiring to the ignition switch and not the whole part. we have rigged the car by hanging objects off of the keys to get it to stay on... i know it's only a matter of time before it stops altogether! honda refuses to take responsibility for they're products. they should not be aloud to continue this! how can we allow them to put unsafe vehicles on the road putting peoples life's in danger!? *tr

While driving on the interstate highway, my a/c stopped blowing cold air. took it to honda dealership and firestone autocare. i was told the compressor has busted. the total repair was quoted at us$1300. this seems to be a common problem for honda crvs and i am surprise that there has been no recalls yet. it is very disappointing and disgusting that in the time of the economy we are forced to bear the cost of a manufacturing defect. honda seems to give you a run around excuse. i live in chicago where 9 months out of 12 months you do not need an a/c. this is my 4th summer and adding the math, the a/c lasted just a little over 9 months. please give this

I purchased a 2008 honda accord lx last year and also purchased an extended warranty due to the amount of miles i drive per day. this year i took my car in to be serviced because the air conditioning was not cooling. the dealership informed me that the condenser was damaged from rocks hitting it and it would not be covered by warranty. the repair cost would be $594 and there was no way to prevent this problem from re-occurring in the future. i informed the service manager that this appeared to be a design flaw in the manufacturing of the vehicle. upon researching this problem on the internet, i found this is a common occurrence among honda & acura models. *tr

Purchased a used 2000 honda odyssey in 2005; at the time of purchase the veh was still under limited manufactures warranty. very well aware of the transmission recall. we are now going on our 4th transmission replacement since the purchase. the last replacement was in february 2008; they made me fight for a warranty on that refurbished / replacement transmission 3 year or 36,000 miles. well this one barely lasted 12,000 miles and i am completely fed up. my wife transports my remaining 4 school aged children around. this vehicle has stalled on numerous times in busy traffic, and this time around i will not except a refurbished or rebuilt or used tranny. i will fight for a new one, or a complete refund of the money spent! *tr

I drive a 2007 honda civic, and lately the driver's side sun visor has been difficult to move. this has been happening for over a year now, and last week i noticed the casing near the rod around which the visor rotates cracking. today the visor came off completely and i realize that the teeth securing the visor to the rod don't rotate around the rod anymore, forcing the plastic in the visor to warp and eventually break completely. this causes the visor to stay completely down, blocking much of the field of vision. as the vehicle is out of warranty, i'm sure i'll have to pay for the part.

On 6/30/08 i replaced the transmission in my 2001 honda odyssey, and today 5/17/11 i'm having the same problem again. the dealership advised me that since my first replacement was covered by my extended warranty, i have no kind of manufacturer warranty on the defective transmission. they advised me that if i would have paid for the first one and not claimed it under my warranty i would still be covered by the manufacturer. they gave me a faulty transmission and now want nothing to do with the situation. they knew about the issues with the odyssey transmission and failed to tell me that they were putting another crappy transmission in my vehicle. this should be unlawful.

Transmission recalled in 05 for defect, was replaced at that time with local dealer. july 29, 2008 transmission failed while traveling far from home and was replaced at my cost of $5,000 as i went 6 months past warranty. transmission is failing again and has to be replaced at my cost because i put 4,000 miles over the 36,000 mile warranty. contacted american honda for help and they will not assist me. the transmission has never been fixed for the original defect with the recall in 05, if it had, i certainly would not be told by honda that it needs it's 4th transmission.  2nd faulty transmission! my story echoes many others (e.g. odi 10354768) in that my 2000 honda odyssey required a new transmission after 5 years/65k miles (extended mfg warranty covered that one) and now another new one after 5 more years, 60k miles (not covered by honda; rebuilt through my personal mechanic and aamco). so frustrating, expensive, and mimicked by other honda owners' experience. what will it take to bend honda's mgmt to the customer's side?

My 2006 honda civic had the tsb09-007 recall performed to reroute the drive belt and replace the pivot bolt on 3/9/2009. the bolt broke after another 20000miles on 8/21/2010. i do not think my dealer replaced the bolt in question (hoffman honda of west simsbury connecticut) or the recall is not sufficient to fix the problem. this is a safety issue because the tsb clearly states this failure can relult in a loss of power steering.

2000 honda odyssey transmission problem in january of 2008, the check engine light came on it my van showing a transmission code. i took it to a honda dealer because i heard of a class action lawsuit concerning their transmissions. the dealer replaced the transmission with a rebuilt transmission. my vehicle had only @53 ,000 miles on it at the time. august odf 2010, my check engine light came on again with another transmission code. my vehicle has only @84,000 miles on it. i spoke with ed voyles honda and honda customer service. they advised that they are doing nothing else concerning the class action settlement per their japan office. the dealer advised me that if i would have paid for a portion of the repair it would have came with a warranty. if i knew that i would have paid some towards the repair. i discovered honda only provided a warranty on the rebuilt transmission until the class action lawsuit expired. 1999-2001 honda transmissions had a know problem with their transmission. they but a band aid on the problem until the class action lawsuit was over. the rebuilt transmission lasted just a little less than the original transmission.the information i read shows they treated each customer differently concerning the class action suit. the service manager made sure he told me you didn't buy your vehicle from us and you dn't have it service here. he wascorrect and i would be buying one from them either.

Brakes are defective on the 2008 & 2009 accord. my rear brakes & rotors were replaced at approximately 14,100 miles, approximately 1 year ago prior to a class action lawsuit filed against honda for the defective brakes. according to honda the new material (brakes are to be released mid june 2010. i contacted honda (see case #n012010-06-1101413) i advised them that i wanted the new brakes put on the vehicle as the earlier brake shoes appear to be defective. they advised that i would have to pay for that. there is written documentation available that states the brakes are bad and there is a new procedure to put the brake pads on. as that documentation was not available when my brakes were replaced i now still have the defective brake pads that have not been installed according to the new procedure. i would also note that at 17,500 miles my front shoes are almost completely worn also. this is a serious situation which can lead to brake failure resulting in a serious accident. i would asks you to look at ww.carcomplaints.com for further documentation my hyperlink is http://www.carcomplaints.com/honda/accord/2008/brakes/premature_brake_wear.shtml and is complaint #836. i would also refer you to this link which explains the details further http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2050392. in short this is an extremely serious problem that honda has until this point apparently covered up.

The key does not turn in the ignition. we have to wiggle it or mess with it many times to get it to turn, sometimes it takes too long for us to get to it turn, which causes many inconveniences for us. the dealer wants $700-$900 to repair this problem, which is outrageous. the consumer should not be responsible for this defect or mistake in the engineering design of the vehicle. and we know this is a common problem with hondas. please recall pilots for this very inconvenient defect. if there is an emergency and someone needs to get to the hospital quick, not being able to start your car because the key won't turn will be catastrophic. this problem needs to be taken care of quickly by the manufacturer.

I drive a 2003 honda odyssey and have been experiencing problems with the rear sliding doors working intermittently, trapping my 12 month granddaughter in the car seat. i have had rollers replaced. now they want me to pay for door latch motor whcih was not an issue until their repair. it appears from websites that this is a global issue and honda needs to take ownership for the safety problem. the alarms go off while in motion indicating the door is open. when the doors are non-functional the passengers can be trapped requiring crawling over seats to get out or to retrieve infants/todlers.

I took my 2006 honda civic to a dealer on november 28, 2008 for a recall, and when it was returned to me, the fuel mileage changed drastically, going from 38 mpg prior to that day, to 29mpg. the recall issue was not related to this. i check my mileage with every fill-up, so the change was apparent from that day. i have contacted honda, and though i was referred back to the dealer to have the situation assessed, no resolution has been offered. my daughter had a 2007 civic, and the same thing happened with the same dealer, o'donnell honda of ellicott city, maryland. frankly, i know i've been cheated out of my fuel mileage because of honda's marketing decisions, related to aligning their products.

Was driving a 2001 odyssey van on 11/24/2000 and at 8:00 pm on 321 north to blowing rock, north carolina and the transmission failed completely. we were barely able to get the van off the road and were fortunate it occurred where it did because part of that highway has no easy pull-off area. original transmission had been replaced under extended warranty by honda in late 2006.....this transmission that failed was only about 3 years old, had about 60,000 miles on it, and was serviced according to honda guidelines. honda refused to take any responsibility.....i believe the evidence is clear that honda has had transmission defect issues with this vehicle and there is a major safety issue. we have filed an official complaint with better business and with american honda....case number for honda is no12009-11-3--1138. *tr

While driving, the hood to my 2003 honda civic ex came unlatched and hit the windshield, shattering the windshield and otherwise damaging the vehicle. upon investigation, the hood latch mechanism was defective. it had nothing but two bolts connecting it to the tierod and the metal that attached the latch to the hood was not soldered to the vehicle. as a result, the car requires $2700 worth of repairs covered by insurance with the deductible of $1000 that i have to pay plus between $500 to $1000 to replace the hood and the latch. i have pictures and the parts are still available. the car has yet to be prepared. the driver suffers from heightened anxiety as a result of the incident. thank you. *tr

I have severe brake shuttering and the steering wheel shakes when i apply the brakes. it starts out as a minor shudder and shake at first, and then over time gets progressively worse, until it is quite vigorous. a little background: the car is a honda certified car- 2004 pilot i bought 2 years ago. as a condition of the sale, the dealer (sam swope in louisville, ky) said they would fix a shimmy in the steering wheel, and a grinding of the brakes. they said it was a minor problem. the brakes were repaired 2 weeks before i bought the car. i brought the car back 4 days later and the rotors were resurfaced. everything was fine for a couple of weeks, and then the problem started coming back- slowly at first and then got progressively worse. 3 months later they resurfaced the rotors. the same problem progressed again, and 3 months later, they replaced the rear brake pads and resurfaced the rotors again. i put up with a shimmy in the wheel as the problem occurred again . finally, after about 8 months, my wife couldn't take the shimmy any more and made me take it in again. i was reluctant because each time i took it in nothing happened, and i'd already spent over $700 to no avail. once again the rotors were resurfaced, the front pads were replaced and the emergency brake drum was turned. two months later i brought the car in for the same problem, and was told the rotors need to be resurfaced again. i called honda customer service on 4/21/09, talked to tina and she said i would likely be denied any help by walter menigvar the exec. review manager because honda corporate considers the brakes to be a repair item. i believe there is an inherent problem with this vehicle and possibly it's design, as i have driven numerous cars over 29 years- many of those miles in the mountains of wva, and have never encountered a problem of this sort. i have also heard about other honda pilots with this problem. i also think it is unsafe. *tr

Have had issues with my tires and suspension since i bought the vehicle. there is a loud noise from the rear of the vehicle and vehicle vibrates when the speed is increased. i took my vehicle into mankato honda and they insisted that it was the tire company's responsibilities so the tire company replaced the tires and alignment was done. 10,000 miles later i returned with the same complaint, mankato honda would not help me so i went to bursville honda. they did help me, they checked my tires, replaced all four tires and alignment was done. bursville honda did not find anything wrong only uneven worn out tires. about every 10,000 to 15,000 miles i have to have all four tires need to be replaced. burnsville honda helped me 2 more times then the business was sold to walser honda. i returned to mankato honda and they showed me a service bulletin where it stated that it was found that 06-07 honda civic's had uneven or rapid tire wear, that would need to repair rear upper control arm kit and flange bolts. i returned to walser honda to have them do the replacement, now 10,000 miles later i am still having the same problems. i am frustrated and do not know what to do next! *tr

I have a 2007 honda odyssey and the sliding doors do not latch properly, which could open while driving with my children sitting in the car. i get an audible chime telling me a door is ajar, but no warning light on the dash. when i come to a stop by hitting the breaks i hear the door finally close. this is a very scary knowing that i could be driving down the interstate and my doors could slide open at anytime. i have taken my car to the dealership numerous times in which they have replaced a failed door latch and tightened the chain and the problem still has not been corrected. i have seen many issues with this in other forums and i wonder what it is going to take for a recall to be issued.

The sun visors on the 2007 honda civic lx are defective. once the hinge breaks, the visor will no longer stay up and it hangs straight down blocking more than one third of the windshield visibility. because my vision is dangerously obstructed i often have to move the visor so that it is against the driver-side window. with the visor in this position, nearly half of the side window visibility is obstructed causing yet a different but equally dangerous hazard. furthermore, when my visor is against the driver-side window and i have to turn, the visor often hits me in the head. in order to prevent being hit in the head i have to hold the visor in place while turning. your defect is not only a cosmetic nuisance it is also very dangerous. as outlined below you can see that i have had to replace my visors an unreasonably excessive number of times. part date mileage driver visor07/19/073,179 driver visor06/14/0814,071 passenger visor08/30/0816,519 driver visor09/16/0817,135 driver visor11/06/1039,479 passenger visor11/06/1039,479 i will gladly produce supporting documentation upon request.

2002 honda civic lx 1.7l v6 has several transmission problems even after the dealer has fixed them under warranty. people are getting stranded late at night with children etc...this is dangerous. people has often taken it upon themselves to fix these vehicles so even thought honda has a high report of transmission failure it's even higher due to the above reason, they just do not know about the others. with the complaints they do have on file they should already there is an issue but they are not identifying with it. getting stranded with this kind of problem could be fatal due to being stranded at night or even in traffic. then who would be the blame....no one!!!! *tr

Purchased 2003 honda accord used from toyota dealership october 2005. noticed strange sound coming from vehicle and gears would shift strangely within a year later. took honda according to dealership for servicing and questioned sound several times, honda insist it was other items that was wrong with vehicle but never referenced transmission. gears on car started slipping and the shift changing got worse as if it did not want to shift into 2nd gear. as i was driving on interstate, car stop pulling and when i would push the gas, the engine would rev up and the rpm would basically go off the meter (high). car would not pull in drive or reverse, as if it was in neutral. when checking transmission fluid, it was greatly discolored (black). i turned car off and restarted car and was able to get car to pull before jerking strongly then going back in the rev engine/not pulling state. because the failure did not occur near dealership and dealership mechanics was closed, i had to have car towed to a transmission specialist who informed me that there was chipping in the transmission (the dark discoloration) and overheating which in turn caused major damage to the transmission. transmission had to be rebuilt, and the torque, pump and other transmission parts had to be replaced. transmission specialist did state that the recall was either not done, parts were faulty, or service wasn't sufficient and did cause the long term transmission failure *tr

*tr

I bought a used 2003 honda odyssey from power honda of valencia in december 2007. in april 2008 the car would not shift out of second gear or go faster than 35 mph. the rpms would rev very high 5k+. i took it into the dealer and they said it needs a new transmission. american honda offered me a 25% discount on a rebuilt transmission, but i just bought the car 4 months ago and i feel that others are having the same problem leading me to believe that they are bad honda transmission. *tr
