Tire valve stem failed. valve stem had been replaced 14 months ago. valve stem had three large cracks near the base of the stem. the resultant leak occurred with no warning or prior loss of air, and the tire lost all pressure after 20 minutes of driving and resulted in permanent damage to the tire sidewall which required replacement of the tire. *tr

The consumer purchased four new tires five months ago. three of the tires have suffered sudden air loss, not due to punctures. the consumer have exchanged two of the defective tires and now the third one is flat. *la third tire failure was did not ruin the tire which was re-inflated with a different value, and now working fine thus far. consumer was wondering if the value originally on tire were not genuine. in each of the three incidents, consumer was traveling between 45 mph to 65 mph. *la

I had 2 different goodyear regatta tires blow out on my car. both incidents occurred within 2 months of each other. the first occurrence was the passenger rear, which blew out while traveling aprox 60 mph. there was no warning signs and the air pressure was aprox 34psi. the second occurence was the driver front on the same car. this time my wife was driving and was traveling about 35 mph. again air pressure was fine, ~35psi, because i had checked it a week earlier. the tread was still good on both tires and the car had recently passed a state safety inspection which includes tread wear.*ak

The tire tread peeled-off the tire while traveling across hot desert highway. the tire was rated to handle the speed, temperature & load under which it failed. will you please also investigate firestone/bridgestone automobile tires? i am afraid that there's a safety problem beyond passenger truck tires.( dot number: emj6 tire size: 185 70r14 )

Front left alloy wheel causes air to leak from tire. dealer has attempted to re-seal tire to alloy wheel three times. tire is not defective. dealer recommends wheel replacement. this appears to be due to faulty design or manufacturing on the part of honda. it's impossible to maintain proper air pressure in the tire without refilling it daily. driving the vehicle with inadequate air in the tire affects handling and vehicle safety. i can't believe that other owners of '94-'95 accord ex 4-cylinder models aren't experiencing similar problems. i would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. thank you. *ak

TIRES - TREAD/BELT

Traveling 65 mph for 32 minutes after a cold start (vehicle not on road for 12 hours), vehicle developed a shimmy as if a tire was out of balance. before i could pull off the road (approximately 3 seconds after the shimmy developed), the driver side rear tire tread partially separated from the tire body, from the center of the tread to the side wall. parts of the sidewall also separated and the tire explosively lost pressure. the vehicle was uncontrollable and spun out on the grass median. damage to the driver rear fender flair, dr quarter panel, dr inside fenderwell and partial separation of the driver side rear bumper skin, all due to treat separation. *tr

On my way back from mt rushmore on july4 on i90 e to st paul, mn , something happened resulting in steering pull, tire overheating and eventually the tire layers came off hitting the fenders & bumpers causing some damage..i suspect the problem may be related with tire stem..fortunately there were no major casualties...i still feel horrified by the incident..something must be done to avoid such incidents..

Car is experiencing slow air leak on 2 wheels. tires and valve stems were replaced on all 4 wheels. the slow leaks continue. i was told by the dealer that my alloy rims (standard on ex model) may be responsible for the leak. i see no other possibility since the tires and valve stems were replaced and the probem wasn't solved. reading failures reports for the 94 accord model, i find similar problems described by other owners. if there is a pattern of leaky alloy rims on 94 honda accord models, this is a serious safety issue. *ak
