While driving, both tach and speed needles dropped to 0, engine died and had to switch off. sometimes, the car would start back up again. other times, the engine would die right after the engine starts. it sometimes would take about 15 minutes of switching the keys off/on before the engine would stay running. then after some distance, the engine would die without warning again.

A/c-heat- the switch to change hot/cold on dash keeps breaking. it "freezes into on position, and you cannot adjust the temperature. driver power window switch- only when it rains or snows the window will go down just fine, but will not go back up. you have to keep the window up so you can pull up on the window glass and press the window switch "up" to get the window back up (if your lucky & it goes up !!!) transmission-the transmission slips when you go around a corner. it also slips if you are coming up behind someone, slow down for them to turn (or whatever) when you re-accelerate, the trans. slips, then kicks in. when you are going 65mph on a highway, the trans. "jumps", and you can watch it do so on the tachometer while it does so.

Engine oil seepage from front of engine block, cost me $1400 for labor, honda took care of engine cost. this happened before honda conducted a campaign for engine oil leakage. honda said, that what happened to my car wasn't correlated to the campaign. every scheduled maintenance i took my car to a certified honda center plus the car haven't driving a lot in 2000 since i'm in the military and deployed to korea for a year without my car, my wife was only driving the car on base and short errands off-base. i want for honda to admit that what happened to my car was a major safety manufacturing defect and reimburse me for what i paid ($1400) to get engine replaced.*ak

I recently was a victim of a honda recall on front balancer shaft seal, which causes oil to be rapidly pumped out engine without warning, causing serious engine damage. i took my car to empire honda in denver,co (303)-399-8443. at empire honda they admitted it was the honda recall that caused me to almost wreck on the highway. they stated that it was covered under the honda recall and they started to make repairs. when they discovered that i needed a new engine, they stated they would only cover 1/3 of the cost. which is totally unacceptable, because problem never would have occurred if it were not for the defect in honda cars. i have the papers on the honda recall that states honda is suppost to replace my engine at no cost (front balancer shaft oil seal replacement pg. 5 d). i know you have access to these papers please look at them, so you can see that i am correct. honda is trying to weasel their way out of taking responsibility for the defects in honda cars. if there is any information or help that would help me in my fight against honda to make them take responsibilty for their defects, please contact me (303)-458-6314. if there is anybody that can make honda take responsibility it is the nhtsa.*ak
