I own a 4 cylinder 4 door 1999 honda accord lx. the srs light came on without reason in june of 2009. i have taken the vehicle to the dealer 5 times. each time they run a diagnostic test. the light will then turn off without illuminating the cause. shortly after picking the car up from the dealer, the light will turn back on. the airbags will not deploy as long as the light is on. i bought a honda because of the safety features. it makes no sense that they have a warranty on the seatbelts but not the airbags. the airbags have never been used. the dealer says that the only way to fix it is replace the airbags. this will cost close to $1000. i can't afford that. even if i choose to start replacing the unit, it won't guarantee that the problem will be solved. they don't know the reason that the srs light keeps coming on. it should be honda's responsibility to fix this problem since it obviously wasn't caused by me, the consumer. this is not an isolated incident. there are hundreds of internet sites with consumers just like me complaining of the same problem. a link to one is http://www.carcomplaints.com/honda/accord/2001/seat_belts_air_bags/srs_light_is_on.shtml please make honda do the right thing and keep their patrons safe. *tr
