I was alerted to a potential problem with the subframe of my vehicle that has caused me to park it. the problem is that the rear subframe has rusted to the point that it is broken in three places. the rear subframe is located in the rear part of the engine compartment and supports the engine and front suspension. i was driving this car for an unknown length of time in this condition. i was informed that this is a safety concern and that the car should not be driven. the portion of the subframe that attaches to the sway bar is completely broken loose from the frame. the location of the rust is under the outlet of the air conditioning condensate drain. this is the only location where the sub frame is rusted. the distilled water coming out of the air conditioner is corrosive to metals. in my opinion this is a design defect that could have been repaired using a very modest cost hose, fitting and perhaps a clamp to re-route the condensate drain away from the structural members of the car. repair of this problem has been quoted at $1600. the car is unsafe to drive. the center for auto safety has requested a recall of these vehicles. many of these cars are still on the road and tend to be driven up to 200,000 miles. this flaw is not readily detectable and is definitely a safety concern. at a minimum owners should be made aware of the potential problem. *tr

A banging noise and a vibration are experienced when the engine is started. it happens in every new honda accord lx 1999 and 2000 year car as the dealer let me tested these cars in stock. it is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous because noise and vibration looses screws and connections for the long run. if this is not corrected, some connections may drop and cause accidents.*ak

I was told this will enable a vehicle to run off the road and hit a tree if falling asleep at the wheel. i do not have the vehicle. the company was not able to correct the problem and told me that all the new vehicles have a pull or drift. the gmc also driven the vehicle, and noticed my complaint. that was when he mentioned that statement to me. so 3 months later i'm in a lease because the problem was not fixed and there was not a replacement vehicle to place me in. i'm not really having a choice. i ended up getting a vehicle that i really didn't want. having a 1996 accord vehicle for 2 years i had no problem with pulling or anything. i am so sorry i traded my vehicle in. since they wanted to charge me to give me my vehicle back i am now in a very unfortunate situation.

Vehicle handling became unstable. vehicle as taken to ourisman honda (bethedsa, md) for service. diagnosis was worn ball joints. replaced at cost of $500. issue is not cost, but safety. it was possible that the ball joint(s) could have failed catastrophically on the highway at high speed, resulting in injury or death. this vehicle was never driven roughly. the maintenance schedule was followed faithfully. i believe that the manuafacturer should be notified.*ak
