On feb. 5, 2011 i purchased 4 tires from dobbs honda on covington pike, memphis, tennessee. on june 7, one of the tires went flat. i was told that the bead was broken on the tire. i returned the tire to dobbs which promised a refund for the tire, have not recieved. on august 2, 2011 i received another flat on a tire. i was told the cause of the flat was a broken bead, i again spoke with dobbs representative who stated that someone would call me. the firs ttire had about 3500 miles on it and the second tire had 4400 miles on it. i complaint that i was afraid that the other two tires might also have a defect and wanted the tires replaced. i was told that the service manager would contact me. dobbs is claiming that it has been almost six months from purchase disregarding the low mileage on the new tires. the service manager after my constant concern regarding the tire safety check the tires saying that the pressure was high and blaming the extreme heat for the problem. when i stated that this does not explain the first tire problem stated that the service manager will call you after five today or tomorrow.

On july 17th, 2010, i had 4 brand new falken zeix ze 912 installed on my car. approximately 5 miles from the dealership, while driving on the freeway, the front right tire blew out. see odi number 10344123) today, august 14th, 2010, while driving down the freeway, the left front tire blew out. i had the spare tire put onto the car and drove to the dick hanna acura of portland, oregon; the dealership that installed the new tires on july 17th. the dealership reported that they could tell from observation that the car ran over a pot hole which caused the blow out. i explained that i was on the freeway and there were no pot holes. i also stated that it seems bizarre that a tire would not be able to hold up even if there were pot holes on the freeway. i reminded them that it was only one month ago that the right front tire blew out. at this point, the tire will obviously have to be replaced. the dealership did not have the appropriate tire in stock thus still has by car until at least monday. this appears to be a huge red flag with these tires. i requested that the dealership review the tires and give me a written confirmation that all the tires are safe prior to me picking up my car.

Sudden side wall failure of the right front tire of my 2006 honda accord. the michelin tire was original equipment on the car. during low speed driving a hole about 4 inches by 3 inches blew out of the tire. it looks as if the belts are totally detached from the outside rubber of the tire. on looking on the internet i found scores of complaints about similar failures. *tr

TIRES - SIDEWALL

Michelin energy mxv4 problems. we were driving on a highway as the one of the rear tire blew out. we pulled over and changed the tires. as i checked the damaged, i noticed a huge crack on the inside part of the tire (no curb damage possible). so we went to a michelin store to request a warranty exchange (tire had less den 10k miles). the rep said it seemed to be a common problem with this kind of tire and he will try to get us a warranty exchange. but because of michelin denying the problem, we prob. wont get the tire exchanged. so we bought a new single tire for $200.16. we are very upset... *tr

On two separate occasions, i had a blow-out while driving my 2006 honda accord se. the first incident was roughly in march of 2006, and the second one november 16, 2006. in both instances, the car was traveling on a straight road at about 65 mph both blow-outs occurred on the passenger side, the first one front and the second rear. the first blow-out nearly put me into the guard rail and caused damage to the alloy rim. the other blow-out did not cause any loss of control. both blow-outs occurred accompanied by a loud sound, not sure if it was from the release of air or the rim slamming to the highway at 65 mph. both blow-outs resulted in a gaping hole in the sidewalls of the tires. the initial failure happened with 3000 miles on the car and the second with 9000 miles. all 4 tires constantly appear to be low on air although within the recommended psi range. neither tire could be repaired and both tires needed to be replaced. i have spent $400 replacing these damaged tires on a car that is less than a year old. *jb

Driving our 2 month old 2006 honda accord sedan ex special edition on a stretch of smooth road the right front tire suddenly and without warning lost air. we had not seen anything in road, hit a pothole or curb or anything else. there was no indication that anything influenced the tire to blow. upon inspection of the tire a 1.5 inch hole was in the sidewall. there was nothing in the road that could have caused this event. fortunately, we were able to pull off the road out of traffic and change the tire without further complications. two michelin authorized tire companies told me that we must have hit something that caused the puncture and that michelin would not offer any warranty on the tire. i was stunned that this could be possible on a 2 month old tire with less than two thousand miles on it and without any identifiable event that might have caused the tire to fail. i am very pleased that there was no resulting crash but i am not happy that i had to spend almost $200.00 to replace a tire on my new car when i believe there was not any way i could have avoided it. if i had hit a pothole, curb or anything, if there was evidence of something in the road or even if i had been driving aggressively i could understand it, but there is no reason in my mind that this tire should have failed nor should i have had to purchase a replacement. i am now concerned about the other 9 michelin tires on our hondas ( we purchased two accords in july) and our safety while driving the cars. *jb
