I was passing a car on the expressway doing 75 mph when the engine sent too strong a current to the spark plug which grenaded it. this sent pieces into the engine destroying it. the engine is honda's 3.0 vtec v6. the engine had less than 50000 miles on it when it happened. the first engine blew the same way when the motor grenaded the spark plug at 53000 miles. honda replaced the first engine because it was under factory warranty. honda of casper wyoming would not replace the second motor because the factory warranty was up. this is ridiculous for them not to stand by a motor when it has less than 50000 miles and the same problem that the first engine and many other owners have experienced. i was forced to buy a used car so i could get to work and was not given any trade in value. i even had to pay for the tear down on the blown motor . *tr

I was passing a car on the expressway doing 75 mph and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the engine destroying it. this happened with only 47000 miles on the 3.0 vtec v6 motor. the first motor blew the exact same way. the previous year i was stuck in a snow bank so i was putting it into drive then reverse to rock the car out of the snow bank and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the motor detsroying it. honda replaced the first motor because it was still under factory warranty but wouldnt replace the second motor because it wasnt under factory warranty even though it happened with less than 50,000 miles on the motor. i was forced to purchase a used car so i could get to work and the honda dealership wouldnt give me anything for trade-in from their piece of junk accord.

Car was idling waiting as a gas station, foot on brakes, in drive gear, all of a sudden, the engine started to rev up (like car in neutral and pressing the gas pedal), i shifted to park and pulled the emergency brakes. car stopped reving. car was returned to the dealer the next day. they could not duplicate the problem. again, on or about september 23, 2008, it happened again while waiting on line at the gas station. did the same as before, shifted to park, pulled emergency brakes on. reving stopped. returned car to dealer, explained problem again. they road tested car, checked idle control, and transmission pcm for failure codes and retrived none. the same problem happen again approximately 3 more time after that and the problem had not reoccurred since. did anyone encountered a similar problem with their honda accord? if i did not shfit to park, would the car accelerate even if my foot was still depressing the brake pedal? i read on one of the honda forums that someone said it was a software problem? appreciate any feedback.
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

On exiting from a beltway on to a ramp and applying the brakes to slow the car, it accelerated the car and as i took my foot off the accelerator, it sped up further. i applied the brakes and the emergency brake and after going very fast over several curbs and through an intersection i was able to stop the car along side of another curb. this damaged the right fender and activated the passenger side airbag. all of the tires were flattened and the frame bent, so the car could not be repaired. the event was quite frightening and fortunately there were no cars in the road or intersection and the car stopped before hitting any structure. i was alone and not injured. i had the car inspected during the past year, since it had accelerated a few times after i removed my foot from the accelerator and applied the brakes.

When driving the car, the check engine light flashed on, then off. we took it to the mechanic who found nothing wrong. a week later, the light flashed on and off again. another trip to the mechanic and then to the dealer revealed that a spark plug had come loose and broke apart causing the cylinder head, cylinder wall and piston to be damaged. the fix was that the car basically needed a new engine (replaced short block, cylinder head, all spark plugs and all necessary gaskets and seals). due to the number of miles on the car (69k at the time of incident), it was no longer under warranty. everyone from the mechanic to the dealer said they had never seen this happen before. honda did end up paying for a percentage of the repair, but our portion was still around $2500. this was our first honda, we bought it based on reputation and because we put a lot of miles on cars. we never expected to have to replace the engine at three years old.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 honda accord coupe. the contact stated that while decelerating the engine would rev up as if it were trying to surge forward. he would have to suddenly put the vehicle into neutral for it to stop. this occured on a intermittent basis. the vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer nor has it been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 28,000. tb

Ac condenser on honda accord ex v6 was hit by road debris and is not covered by warranty. frequent complaints about this happening with many types of hondas built before 2008. honda refused to assist with repair cost of a new ac condenser, approx. $900. *tr

A/c condenser in honda accord 2007 damaged by pebbles in freeway. my honda accord lx sedan a/c was not working after 16000 miles. took it to dealer and he said it is from pebble from road or from other cars damaged the a/c condenser. what kind of vehicle design is that allows pebbles to allow it to hit cars internal part and damage it. honda dealer as well as customer service asks to claim file to insurance. why should i pay $500 deductible for car which is not designed to protect it sensitive parts .!! i had my baby in car while driving through the summer at july , and if a/c is not working , due to honda's inability to act on genuine complaints, what reliability does these cars have? *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda accord. on september 21, 2007, the contact called the dealer because his vehicle would not start. after several unsuccessful attempts to start the vehicle, he waited a couple of hours and the vehicle finally started. he took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that there was failure within the battery. after testing the battery, the dealer stated that the battery was fine; however, there was a micro chip in his key that was preventing the vehicle from starting. the contact informed the dealer that he wanted a new vehicle. during the second week, the engine light would illuminate and the engine would jump and shake as if it would shut off. during the third week, while driving 15-25 mph, the headlights would not dim when they were deactivated. he pulled over and the vehicle would restart. the failure became more frequent as time progressed. the current mileage was 1,500 and failure mileage was 250.
