In very cold weather the car does not have brakes. the dealership told me that this a defect with this car. honda is aware of the problem but has not done a recall. i am the second owner of the car. the previous owner was in az, therefore would not have had a problem. i am very fortunate that i did not have an accident. the dealership stated that the brake valve had to be replaced in all the 2007 honda accord hybrids. i think that this should be investigated. *tr ## vin failed ##

As driving on the highway around 50mph, i applied brakes and it almost had no stopping power. later that day i checked it with the dealer and got brake pads and brake rotors changed. not even after two months the braking power has faded. please get this issue fixed as it is causing excessive braking problems which can cause an accident and damages. *tr

When backing out of our downwardly-sloped home driveway, the vacuum assist for the brakes fades or doesn't work at all. brakes work fine going forward. this is a potential safety issue if someone were walking on the sidewalk behind the backing up car, because once the vacuum assist fails, it is very difficult to press the brake pedal hard enough to stop the car in reverse. the above-described event occurs often. *tr

Getting off interstate 95 (ct), slowing down for stop sign, brakes failed. shifted to park, pulled emergency brake, foot still on brakes to no avail. bump car in front of me before stopping. no warning lights whatsoever. called 911 and reported accident. drove car the next day to nearest honda dealer in westport, ct. explained accident to service technician. was informed that they found air entering abs modulator. they indicated that it was unsafe to drive. had to order part and repair was completed on may 9th. requested original service manager (mahwah honda, nj) of problem and asked to speak to a honda regional representative to discuss as to why no warning lights and may be caused by a defective modulator. as of today, have not received any feedback after numerous emails and telephone calls to mahwah honda. seems like honda do not want hear about these problems. i requested and received the modulator that was originally in the car. someone will get hurt if honda do not act on this problem. honda forums shows many 2007 accord brake problems. please help. thank you.

On exiting from a beltway on to a ramp and applying the brakes to slow the car, it accelerated the car and as i took my foot off the accelerator, it sped up further. i applied the brakes and the emergency brake and after going very fast over several curbs and through an intersection i was able to stop the car along side of another curb. this damaged the right fender and activated the passenger side airbag. all of the tires were flattened and the frame bent, so the car could not be repaired. the event was quite frightening and fortunately there were no cars in the road or intersection and the car stopped before hitting any structure. i was alone and not injured. i had the car inspected during the past year, since it had accelerated a few times after i removed my foot from the accelerator and applied the brakes.

Brakes unevenly have worn on the back, and there appears to be a caliper issue and the brake pads do not even cover the entire surface of the rotor. suddenly the car had a very difficult time stopping. with less than 28k miles the brakes should be fine. the back brakes need to be replaced but the front brakes are fine and the pads cover the entire rotor. honda needs to take responsibility for this faulty design of the rotors.

2007 honda accord ex-navigation. i have owned this vehicle since 2010 with 30k. they should be multiple recalls on this vehicle. in 2 occasions on the highway, i was unable to stop this vehicle. i rear ended one vehicle doing 45 mph without the airbags deploying. the airbag light stays on with it flashing. i had a complete brake system overhaul. second time, the same thing happened. i pressed on the brakes and it takes so long for the vehicle to respond. dealership told me there was no issue with the airbags or braking system. after both accidents the airbag light flashes and stays on. also the the seat belts stay in a locked position and won't retract. dealership says the piston in the seat belts were bad. i waited to have them fixed. good thing because both seat belts retracted after three weeks. separate issue with the seals on the outer doors. every time it rains i end up with 3 inches of water on the driver side rear floor. i had the dealership also check this. they said they fixed the problem. all problems still occur to this day. i had owned honda accords all my life of 48 years. i have my doubts of ever buying another honda vehicle after this awful experience.

My wife recently purchased the 2007 honda accord se from an elderly gentleman who has gently used the vehicle (having only driven the vehicle 53,000 kms in the four years he had it from new). all of the maintenance receipts are with the vehicle. imagine my surprise when i drove the car and discovered the brakes to be not acting as expected. upon review, i noticed that the rear brakes were worn down significantly and the rotors were badly scored. i was not expecting this on the rear brakes of such a car. apparently the brakes are a major concern on this vehicle, yet honda doesn't appear to be willing to take responsibility for the problem unless threatened (and even then it may not happen). my concern for the safety of this vehicle has resulted in me driving it very rarely and i feel that honda has duped me on this one. my toyota camry has over 200,000 kms on it and i just recently replaced the rear brakes on it after 180k. appreciate any information on how i can get my dealer to repair this problem (and what type of replacement brakes / pads / rotors i should be asking for). if they won't repair then i'll have to take it to a reputable brake specialist and have them fix honda's problem.

Had to slam on brakes at 65 mph, for the first time ever, to avoid a car that swerved in front of me. shortly after, normal braking reulted in a dangerous wobble in the front wheels. i brouht to a honda dealer the next day who advised the brake calipers were warped because i had slammed on the brakes. the dealer inspection reported front brakes had 75% life left (which is indicative of my moderate driving style), but were replaced when the calipers were ground to eliminate the warping. dealer service rep advised the warping could happen any time i went down a hill or slammed on my breaks. which to me is normal use. i complained that the calipers were seriously underbilt and was told it would be too espensive for honda to make more robust ones for their cars. in other words, i should expect to get warped front calipers from normal everyday driving, to which the dealesr service rep agree. basically i am stating that honda has scrimped on the quality of their honda accord from brake calipers and the consummer has to pay for it. i have complained to honda and was told that i could expect this problem in everyday driving on hills (i live in ct) or from slamming on the brakes. this is a dangerous situation being forstered on the consumer. i shudder to think what would have happend if i didn't have the work done the next morning, especially in winter driving.

My 07' honda accord lx sedan has 58,000 miles on it and i have had to replace front rotors and brake pads in approximately 15,000 mile intervals. under braking, the vehicle suffers from shudder which makes it difficult to steer and control. i have approached honda dealership and they are not able to resolve this issue. several other people also complain of this and i believe that honda should issue a recall and fix this recurring and expensive problem if they value consumer loyalty.

I have a 2007 honda accord exl 2dr v-6 with an automatic transmission. i bought it used in august of 2010 with 32,000 miles. shortly after buying the car, the brake pedal started to become progressivly softer. after about 6 weeks, i took the car into have the brakes done, and was told by the technician that a tsb, #07-045 dated march 5, 2009, had been published concerning the vsa modulator on the vehicle, and that i should check with honda. i took the vehicle to ken garff honda in orem, utah, and spoke with the service manager, showing him a copy of the tsb. he told me there was nothing could do for me as it was not a recall. i explained i was having trouble with the brakes on the vehicle, but he was not willing to look at the car. that was a concern to me as the brake pedal was almost to the floor to get the car stopped. there was also a noticble pull to the right when i braked. i took the vehicle back to a brake repair shop and they changed the brake fluid, making me aware there was quite a bit of air in the brake lines. i had the brakes bled again three weeks ago, and again the pedal is almost to the floorboard to get the car stopped. i feel this is a significant safety problem with the vsa modulator, and that honda is aware of it. they conducted a recall of the element and odyssey for the same problem, and are replacing the vsa modulators in cars under warranty, yet are not willing to step forward and make safe a vehicle that has a potentially catostrophic problem .

My 2007 honda accord has breaking problems. i recently had to replace the all of the breaks and rotors due to over heating. the brakes are mushy and applying the brakes results in a jerky, spasmodic, uneven effect that is close to resulting in loss of vehicle control. the syptoms are very similar to those of the 2008 odysee that resulted in a recall

The front brakes vibrate violently when applying brakes at speed of 60 ~ 75 mph. the vibration started when the car had about 10,000 miles; i went to dealership, they told me it was warping disc caused the problem, i would have to pay for re-surfacing the front discs; at 20,000 miles, the vibration had become a safety concerns, i had to change rotors and pads, but the vibration started again after driving about 2000 miles. i went back the mechanics, they told me the front discs are ok, maybe the vibration caused by overly sensitive abs. i went back to dealership again, they said there are no service bulletins or recalls regarding the abs or front brakes, and i should re-surface or replace the rotors one more time (even the new rotor has about only 7000 miles on it).

Rear disc brake failure on 2007 honda accord se. no warning from wear indicators that a problem existed. the car was inspected just 1000 miles before and pads and rotors were good. rotated tires two weeks before the failure occurred and the rotors and pads were fine. noticed a grinding sound from the rear right side and investigated. the pads were gone and ate deep into the rotor. car had 23949 miles on it and honda refused to do anything other than replace at my cost.

07 honda accord rear brake pad pins become rusted and will not let the rear brake pads release, causing them to to be applied all of the time, on one pad on each side, causing excessive wear and damage to the brake pads and brake rotors. this car has 45000 miles on it and i had to replace the rear pads and rotors on this car. the sides that stuck on my car were the ones without the wear indicators. my wife heard a grinding noise and then i checked out the rear brake system and found the problem. a salesman at advance auto told me to check these pins, because he had seen this problem several times. i think honda needs to step forward and make this problem known to the public, several have complained on internet web sites about this problem on 07 models, but there seems to be many more complaints coming in on the 08 accord models.

Honda accord 2007, brakes slips a lot, car vibrates, car doesn't stop as suppose to when properly depressing the brake pedal, had to put the tranny to lowest gear step by step in order to really slow down and stop. i had it check and repaired by ace tire, result of check up was, original equipment front brake pads caved in the front rotors due to low grade brake rotors and brake pads. *tr

I'm having anti-lock brake problems on a honda accord 2007 se. the problem is that in snow the brakes are taking a ridiculous amount of time to stop. i have driven in snow for decades and it feels like it takes twice as long to stop with honda's antilock brakes compared to conventional brakes. i am referring to city driving in situations where i'm only going 25 mph or less and the brakes stop poorly. *tr

I'd like to report an issue with my 07 honda accord brakes with 32,642 miles. after a few miles of freeway driving (no stop and go) all 4 rotors are very hot. any rotor is too hot to touch, and in fact, would blister your finger. they are so hot that they sometimes smell of burnt brake material. these brake rotors are excessively hot without virtually any usage of the brakes. this is not a normal condition for any car. i do not use my brakes excessively, drive almost exclusively freeways, and got over 100,000 mile on my previous honda's rear brakes. i took my car to the local honda dealer for service under warranty. when i pulled in to the service area the service person came right out. i asked him to verify that the rotors were extremely hot. he did so. the reason i had asked the service person to verify the hot rotors was so that he could acknowledge the fact that the rotors were indeed hot before the car had a chance to cool down. after 20 minutes or so the service technician had the opportunity to check the brakes. he said that there were no hot spots on the rotors and there was no problem. of course the rotors were not hot after cooling down for 20 minutes. the service person also told me that the rear pads were close to needing replacement. needing to replace the rear pads after 33,000 mile of freeway driving is premature pad wear. the only reason for premature pad wear on my brakes after 33,000 miles is dragging brake pads. because the brakes are dragging all the time is the reason that the rotors are excessively hot and the reason that the pads are prematurely worn. this is not a normal condition for any car. brake rotors being excessively hot is a dangerous condition. rotors that are excessively hot all the time will lead to premature brake fade in conditions where the brakes would be used a lot, like driving downhill mountain grades. this is a definite safety issue. *tr

I am concerned that honda has used substandard brake rotors and faulty airbag equipment on some of their models. i owned a 2007 honda accord lx that required replacement of airbag components within two years of purchase(the car was new at purchase in 2007). it also developed faulty braking in the form of vibration and excessive stopping distances within 18 months of purchase--this was under mild driving conditions. i have been told by honda that it is common for their brake rotors to need turning within two years of service, which, based on my experience with vehicles, would constitutes a marginally sound brake rotor. substandard braking equipment coupled with questionable airbag components could lead to catastrophic consequences in the event of an incursion or near-incursion. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda accord. while driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle. the vehicle was driven to the dealer. the contact stated that when he depressed the brake pedal, it held for a moment and then began to vibrate. he applied more pressure to the pedal, but it would not hold. the failure mileage was 13,000. updated 10/16/08. *lj updated 10/20/08. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda accord. the contact stated that on three separate occasions, while driving approximately 50 mph, the brakes locked when the pedal was depressed. the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. the first time, they replaced the master cylinder, 4 rotors, and 4 brake pads. the second time, they replaced the brake booster, 4 pads, and 4 rotors. the third time, the dealer stated that they could not duplicate the failure. they declared that the vehicle was operating normally. the current mileage was 5,000 and failure mileage was 800.

The brakes on my new 2007 honda grab 50% of the time. especially dangerous after the car is washed. they are too sensitive, and i'm never sure what pressure to use to stop safely. *tr the blind spot on the right rear side of car is unsafe. fault is in the design of the car and the rear view mirror is not large enough and the passenger's head/head rest blocks the driver's vision.
