| I was having problems with shuddering in my car. on january 21, 2013, i logged a complaint number with honda usa. their recommendation was for me to have my car looked at by a certified honda technician. i made an appointment for january 25th and took the car in. the certified dealer in countryside called to tell me he was able to replicate the issue. the service technician did an upload of more recent software and the issue seemed to be fixed. i was skeptical. when i arrived to pick up my vehicle, i was shown a service bulletin that honda service was receiving notifying them of the issue. i asked why honda was not actively recalling the cars to correct the problem. they said they did not know why. *tr | |||

| Car cut off while in store for five minutes was told that if you leave keys in ignition while off it drains the battery. no car in my life that ever happened after leaving the radio in the car on and drained the battery. *tr had a problem within 3 months of buying a 2008 honda. car cut off and wouldn't start. and it did it again last night took it in before and the first time i took it in battery was fine and they check the battery today and they said it was no good but it happened a total of 4 times and there was a recall on the car and it happened to other people and which shouldn't happened cut off last night and no key in the ignition and battery died. spoke to [xxx] store manager and spoke to service manager and refuse to change the battery. all they did was charge up battery. cause they wanted me to purchase a battery for 159.00 which there is a problem. because there was a problem few months after i bought the car. and brought in for same thing now less than a year. honda told me that if you leave key in car that the car still is drawing power even though key is off. i kid you not my mom was in the car for five mins and battery died. honda of roanoke rapids don't care about customer service and doing what is right to satisfy the customer. battery was going bad before. i will never buy a car again from them. and i have the power train warranty and american honda forced me to get it and wont cover squat. i was forced to take it by american honda or else they would approve my loan. this was honda of roanoke rapids. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr | |||

| Motor shuts down regardless of speed and can sometimes be restarted by applying pressure to the ignition switch key forward to restart if possible while on roadway. otherwise, must execute a quick response to losing power braking, steering and etc. and drive to safety at off road location. upon removing the ignition key from switch module, the metal key was extremely hot, starting engine back up often was not possible until ignition switch and key cooled down. this occurance put an unreasonable risk on occupants due possible accidents. the nhtsa campain id number 02v120000 addressed this issue. however, rejection of applying recall to my vehicle, even though the situation was exactly identical to recall by honda dealer, who replaced switch at my expense and refused to consider that recall applied to the ignition unit as not on recall list. i questioned sensibility of this as my car's ignition switch was malfuncting exactly as the ignition switch under recall. due to dealer's disposal and inability to retreive replaced item, unable to compare part number to honda's list of bad switch components. i have placed a complaint with honda motors u.s.a., case #n032012011000163 which was rejected due that they don't show vin# is included in the recall. i questioned this with them as recall and actual events occuring with my auto were identical. they advised that refund of the $184.74 for replacing the ignition switch would not be possible even though problem was identical with recall as my vehicle wasn't included. | |||

| Headlights flicker out completely or dim severely when coming to a stop or the condenser for the ac/defrost kicks on. i have researched this and it appears to be an issue due to the electric load detector. although honda had said this might be normal i find that while driving my 4 yr. old son around it is a safety concern and would like to have the problem looked into. | |||

| At night the headlights dim repeatedly while the car is at a stop. while driving the headlights flicker or blink every 15-25 seconds while the air conditioning is operating. this could appear as if i am flashing other drivers and can be construed as an aggressive act. i would not have bought this car had i known about this design flaw. however honda released a statement on their website that this flicker of the headlights is normal and was designed that way to increase fuel efficiency. | |||

| I purchased a 2008 honda accord and the lights continuously flicker whenever i use the ac or heating. the flickering is so prevalent that i'm afraid that others drivers may think i'm flashing my lights at them. this is a physical safety issue as i'm afraid of road rage as well as the fear that the car will ultimately stop functioning due to the amount of power that appears to be being used when the flickering happens. | |||

| I have a honda accord lx 2008 sedan which i bought 2 years ago. ever since i bought this each year without fail i have experienced intermittent lack of power during acceleration which has happened while driving on the highway, each time it has lasted any where from 20 to 45mins ,there no engine check light on or any indication light of a malfunction. i reported to the dealership left the car with them over night i was told that they ran the automated computer test and and nothing was found to be wrong with the car , the second time it occurred i called honda usa and reported the same incident , i was contacted by honda told to take to a dealership , i left the car over over a week and was told the automated test showed nothing and they could not duplicate the problem . this same thing occurred again this year and i contacted honda dealership , i produced a bulletine from honda web site describing exactly the problem my car has been experiencing , i contacted honda took it the dealership i was told that my car vin # range wasn't covered in those affected since my car had a more recent soft ware up date. and that they will have to duplicate the problem, as per honda request i left the car and i was told there was nothing they could do, even though the problem had persisted and has being reoccurring i was told to bring it in when it occurs again but its had happened three times already i have a. my fustration stems from the fact that honda usa claims that my car has an up dated soft ware and even the over ride could not be possible , but the problem detailed in the honda bulletine memo describes whats happening to my car. the bulletine states thus : some 2008 accord l4 vehicles may experience an intermittent lack of power due to interference or noise on the knock sensor signal circuit .interference or noise on the circuit can cause the pcm to retard the ignition timing , causing a decrease in engine power usually during acceleration. | |||

| I have a 2008 honda accord ex-l i picked up new in the fall of 2007. to date i have just over 30,000 miles. today, (4/12/10) i took my car to my local honda dealership for an oil change. i was told that my rear brakes were at 5% and repair cost would be $330.00!!! i mentioned i paid an additional $2,200.00 for an extended warranty on top of the $28,000.00 sticker price back in 2007. today i asked the honda advisor what does my $2,200.00 extended warranty cover? he said nothing mechanical. by this point i did not want to argue, but rather i paid the $38.13 for my oil change and left. also with my previous oil change maybe 3 months ago with about 29,000 miles i was also told my rear brakes were somewhere around 15% and i think the honda dealership quoted me around $300.00. i am definitely a named party in the gibbs lawsuit as of 12/17/09. i have not paid to fix my rear brakes yet. other problems i am having is my navigation freezes up, i have this rattling sound in my front drivers door, my front passenger door sounds like it is not closed all the way because i hear road noise, and twice now my wipers have continued to stay on even though i turned them off or the wipers will be delayed even though the wipers are off, my glove box is misaligned on the right hand side and at times when i am pulling into the garage with my foot off of the gas pedal, the car will accelerate forward a llittle. i am finished with this car!!!! my 2008 accord is my 3rd accord and by far the most obnoxious lemon i have ever owned. my 1986 and 2000 accords were more honda than my 2008 accord. i am thoroughly disgusted with honda's caring integrity. | |||

| I have a 2008 honda accord ex that the head lights dim considerably when the you have the heat or air condition on. i have been back to the dealer and they say this is normal for honda's. the problem is driving at night when you see this occur and think something wrong electrically and you are distracted. it's so noticeable that i have had cars in the opposite direction blink their lights at me. i have spoken with other owners and they have the same issue. i feel this is a very serious distraction when driving. is there any thing that can be done about this. *tr | |||

| I drive a 2008 honda accord that has an electrical issue when the compressor runs. whether it is with the a/c or the heater, when the compressor kicks on, my headlights and taillights flicker/dim. it happens everytime the compressor kicks on. i asked my dealer about it at a regular service interval and was told that was normal for accords. it is very distracting when you are driving at night and your headlights are constantly dimming/flickering. i have resorted to not using my air conditioning or heater at night so i won't have the lights flickering/dimming. *tr | |||

| In the last two weeks, the car would not start on four separate occasions. have had to have the car jump started. i've taken it to the honda dealership and they say that nothing is showing wrong with it on the diagnostic reading. they first indicated that an interior light could have been left on but then the problem repeated itself. took the car back and was told that nothing was wrong. for that reason they say they cannot fix something that is not wrong. however, the car has not started on even after it has had two new batteries put in it. something continues to kill the battery when it sits for a while or over night and they have no clue what it is and will not fix it because nothing is wrong with the car. sometimes the car will start but the problem is getting worse. i have a car that i'm terrified to drive for fear that i might be stranded. i've also purchased a jumper cables with battery to keep in the trunk of the car because i am using my auto club too much in a short period of time and now they must charge me if they come out to start it. the honda dealership does not know what is wrong with it and will not fix it. *tr | |||

| I purchased an accord exl on 2/8/09. while driving with the defroster or air conditioning on, the exterior and interior lights flash approximately every 30 seconds. we took it to the dealership and were told this is a normal characteristic caused by eld system. they are not able or not willing to fix the problem. this a serious safely hazard, as i drive highly congested roads daily and do not feel safe driving a car that flashes its headlights constantly. other cars do not know this is a normal characteristic. they will think i am an aggressive driver flashing them, and this could cause serious problems. i do not understand why this cannot be resolved, and why honda does not consider this a major problem. there seem to be many complaints about this issue, and i am not aware of any other cars that have this problem. please help us with this issue, as someone may end up seriously hurt due to this issue. you may contact me for my vin but i do not wish to post this information online. *tr | |||

| 1) headlight projection very poor. difficult to see100 feet ahead. this is exacerbated by a draw on the electrical system that makes the headlights dim while car is in motion. i will not drive the car at night or at night while it is raining. i feel that the car is dangerous and on several occasions i almost hit pedestrians walking or on a bicycle. this occurs on a daily basis and is constant. the honda dealer inspected the issue once and stated that there was no defect, but that the car operates to normal specification and id comparable to all 2008 honda accord 4 cylinder models. this issue was prevalent since i took delivery of the new car in july, 2008. 2.) since taking delivery of this vehicle and to the present date, there is a wobble/wheel shimmy in the suspension at various speeds and different degrees of severity on a daily basis. on the first repair attempt the dealer replaced several tires and performed a high tech wheel balance using a hunter 9700 road force balancing machine. the problem was not corrected. on the second visit the dealer test drove the car and stated that the issue is a characteristic of the vehicle and other honda accord 4 cylinder models with the same engine, transmission and suspension. conclusion: this car is dangerous, exhibits very poor steering and ride as it wanders and shimmies all over the road. this problem combined with poor headlight projection and dimming headlights make this vehicle a major hazard on wheels. *tr | |||

| There is a large voltage drop that can be seen in the lights at night ... the lights really dim as the alternator cycles .. it occurs every night when driving and happens at steady rpms and when decelerating .. i know this is not a major complaint but the car is new and it may turn into something down the road , time wise for owners ..what worries me that in a few months that the voltage drop may cause a problem and stall engine or lights dimming may pull excessively on battery and charging system and cause failures in other areas .. thank you very much in advance for your help and the forum to pass on concerns that maybe safety concerns. *tr | |||
