Tl*the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. while driving 65 mph, the steering wheel began to vibrate heavily and shake. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but they have been unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. they have rotated the tires and also replaced them; however, the failure still persists. she took the vehicle to michelin ntb and, after a test drive, they stated that the failure could stem from the suspension or transmission. michelin could not determine the cause of the failure as well. the contact believes that a crash could occur because she is unable to control the steering at high speeds. the failure mileage was 8,200 and current mileage was 8,300. updated 11/25/08. *lj updated 11/25/08.*jb

Vibration/shimmy in the steering wheel. took vehicle to purchasing dealer twice. dealer could not fix shimmy. dealer said that's the way honda is making them. shimmy starts ~ 60 mph and continues through 75 mph. shimmy is intermittent and varying in intensity depending on vehicle speed and load. took to 2nd dealer and verified problem. 2nd dealer also verified other 2008 accords having the same problem. *tr

I took delivery of 2008 honda accord coupe (4 cylinder automatic) in august of 2008. from day one i experience a steering wheel and suspension/drivetrain vibration & shimmy at speeds between 45-65 mph. the dealer replaced tires and wheels, and balanced four wheels during first service visit. on the second and last offered service visit for this defect, the dealer determined that the vehicle was operating as designed. they did not state that they could not verify the complaint and stated they would not make anymore attempts to diagnose or repair the problem. *tr
SUSPENSION - REAR

Owning 2008 honda accord rear brakes needed to be replace under class action suit dealer replacement would be 450.00 and reimburesment 150.00. this doesn`t sound like good customer relations .. i could buy pads for 38.00 and replace them myself as i have done for years as a fleet mechanic.if store bought pads prematurely wear out they have limited lifetime warranty for replacement.the only thing ...stopping ....u and your family from serious injuries would be good brakes..honda needs to come up with better idea for future car buyers also rear shock had broken dealer did replace with no problem.

I am the owner of a 2008 honda accord 4-door lx-p sedan (automatic transmission), which was purchased in january of 2008. beginning in december of 2008, i detected an intermittent noise which can best be described as the sound of air moving through a straw when applying the brakes, which was sustained through subsequent acceleration until repeated application and release of the brakes caused the noise to cease. it was audible inside and outside of the car, and could not be isolated to one particular area of the car (rear or front), though it appeared to originate in the wheels area. this was reported to the dealer during visits for oil changes and tire rotations, as well as a separate visit specifically to assess this ongoing occurrence. i was repeatedly assured that they had not heard the noise, but had checked the brakes and tires and all was fine, there were no suspected or visible concerns. one day prior to my most recent service appointment of june 11, 2009, the noise changed (though was still very intermittent) and began to sound and feel like a grinding, metal-to-metal noise, as well as a vibration felt in the brake pedal. when inspected during the service appointment, i was told that they had discovered that the rear brake pads were completely worn and damage had been done to the rotors as a result. the rear brake pads on the newer honda accords (automatic transmissions) wear extremely quickly, at approximately 18-20,000 miles. they also wear unevenly, such that the inner pads wear much more quickly than the outer. the rear pads also wear much more quickly than the front. this problem is potentially dangerous and very costly. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 honda accord (na). the contact heard a cracking sound coming from the rear passenger side of the vehicle. while driving at various speeds, he must hold the steering wheel tightly to prevent the vehicle from veering to the left. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the rear struts failed. the dealer replaced the rear bolt and strut; however, the cracking noise still persists. the contact notified the manufacturer, but they did not provide any assistance. the vehicle is currently at the dealer. the current and failure mileages were 500. updated 11/20/07 *tr
