| I have owned a set of yokohama avids for the past 2 years and roughly 20,000 miles. in that time i have had 3 side wall failures. one from a pot hole, one from a raised man hole cover and one from a nail going through the sidewall. all three tires were completely destroyed. in 24 years of driving i have only had this happen these 3 times. the original set of tires were michelin's and there were no issues with side wall failures in over 50,000 miles. | |||

| Michelin pilot mxm4 p225/50r17 original equipment tire on a 2008 honda accord 4dr ex. mounted on rr with only 17735 miles developed a side wall blister near the bead. the tire was properly inflated and had never suffered any impact damage. the tire had to be replaced at owners cost because michelin dealer would not honor warranty. defective tire kept by owner for inspection by michelin rep. *tr | |||

| Tire had a 1/16 inch wide by 1/2 inch length slit near the rim. went to the tire manufacturer and i was told it was not a defect. when i first saw the slit, it was like a pulled tissue paper. now it is two inches long. i got it replaced at a cost. *tr | |||
