Back in august i took my car to southeastern honda dealer like i routinely do to have my oil changed. it was suggested by service rep to change my transmission fluid, which i did. on my way home from work one night my engine light started flashing and my car was driving like it is going to shut off. i took my car to the dealer and they hooked it up to a machine and said it was 2 of my spark plugs, it's a common problem with the accords v6 so it's best to change all of plugs which i agreed too and this will solve the problem. on 2/7/13 i took my car to southeastern honda for my routine oil change and again the service rep suggested my power steering fluid and brake fluid needed to be changed which i agreed too. on my way home the vsa, brake light and abs light came on in the car. as so as i was able to i took it back to southeastern honda, the same service rep said they hook it up and it was the spark plugs which was change back in august and it should not be occurring because all the plugs were changed and it's a defect in the engine. he will speak with the good will honda person because the car needs an engine. he called back a couple of days later and say it's the engine and i will be required to pay half for the engine. i left my car at the dealer for a week, paid a few dollars short of $3000.00 dollars and my engine vsa, brake and abs lights is still coming on. i googled this problem and alot of the hondas have this problem. i will like to know what is the status of this problem.

I was having problems with shuddering in my car. on january 21, 2013, i logged a complaint number with honda usa. their recommendation was for me to have my car looked at by a certified honda technician. i made an appointment for january 25th and took the car in. the certified dealer in countryside called to tell me he was able to replicate the issue. the service technician did an upload of more recent software and the issue seemed to be fixed. i was skeptical. when i arrived to pick up my vehicle, i was shown a service bulletin that honda service was receiving notifying them of the issue. i asked why honda was not actively recalling the cars to correct the problem. they said they did not know why.

The trunk lid since new will barely stay up. it has come down on our heads multiple times. at some point someone could be seriously injured. we reported this problem to the dealer who told us honda was looking into it but there was no fix available. i should have reported this long ago.

Sometimes my car makes a grinding noise when i turn the key to start it. i took my car twice to the metro honda dealer in montclair, ca; but even though i have the extended guarantee, they refuse to check my car. i do not know what to do. i did some research on the internet, and i found out that a lot of people are having the same problem; and some of them had replaced the vtc actuator, and the problem was fixed. i mentioned this to the maintenance experts at metro honda, but they still do not care. my concern is that this is a situation that is not on a recall list. what should i do?

I purchased my certified pre-owned honda accord 2008 4cy from fischer honda with close 52,000 miles. i have noticed that the car's oil empties out before i am due for my regular oil changes. the car begins to make strange noises. i have mentioned this to two dealers and they don't know what is exactly going on. one dealer told me that i probably put bad gasoline in my car. upon further investigation, i have noticed that a lot of honda accord 2008 owners are having this same issue and honda is not really doing anything to solve this issue. they are currently doing an oil consumption test on my car.

We purchased a new 2008 honda accord exl in 2008. it has onluy 40,000 miles on it and my husband was driving and went to pass and the engine missed and and began to shudder and misfire and almost had a head on for could not accelerate and had to find a way to get back into line. we took it in and the only thing to fix it was replace the spark plug which we did and car was fine for a few weeks but now it is doing it again. i feel it's a safety issue if in the middle of driving you cannot accel the vehicle

This vehicle's headlights drop in intensity approximately every 20 seconds. it does not matter if you are idling or going 70 mph. this causes an unsafe loss of lighting and forward vision while utilizing the headlights during night time driving. it also appears to other drivers as if you are flashing your lights at them. i have numerous honda vehicles and none of them do this. i have been told by the dealer that this is a normal function of the lights. i do not notice it when the bright lights are on. the decrease in light intensity is consistent when the radiator fan kicks on, drawing power.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. the contact stated that while trying to unlock his vehicle the key fob had failed and would not open any of the doors on the vehicle. also, the contact has experienced failures with his rear brakes. while trying to decelerate he would hear a squealing noise. the vehicle was inspected by the dealer and informed the contact that the key fob has a faulty part and the rear brakes were normal wear and tear. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 41,000. tb

Back brakes are making a loud sound when i press on them. car begins to shake as well. many people are having the same issues.

I have a 2008 honda accord sedan ex-l v6 and the rear brake pads are wearing very prematurely. i'm being told that they need to be replaced immediately, and my mileage is only 30k. my braking ability has drastically reduced and i feel the car having trouble when i apply the brakes. the accord is a front wheel drive vehicle and the rear brake pads should not be a problem this early in the vehicle's life. my research has shown that this is a problem with all 8th generation honda accords. honda does not acknowledge the problem so this money comes out of my own pocket unless i sue or join a class action lawsuit, which is prefer not to do. this needs to be addressed and honda needs to work with the accord owners to rectify this issue.

Rear brake pads are wearing down prematurely. i have a 2008 honda accord ex-l and have gone threw two pad replacements and one set of rotors replaced and am about to replace rotors again. i contacted honda to inform them that two mechanics have seen the brake pads from the front and the rear. they were amazed at how quickly the rear pads wear down. honda responsed that the braking system was new and the braking power now has a 60 - 40 distribution. 60 % on the rear and 40% on the front. every mechanic that i've spoke to about this stated that if the vehicle was rear wheel drive then they can understand somewhat but for a front wheel drive vehicle the front brakes should be taking most of the power to stop. never the less , honda stated that they are aware of complaints about the same issue and that they were correcting the issue but my case is not the same. every online article i read showed the exact same issue i encountered. all i want is my brakes to be corrected before i die or any one of my kids die. somewhere online i was told that a class-action lawsuit was filed with honda with regards to the brake wear.

Brakes are defective on the 2008 & 2009 accord. my rear brakes & rotors were replaced at approximately 14,100 miles, approximately 1 year ago prior to a class action lawsuit filed against honda for the defective brakes. according to honda the new material (brakes are to be released mid june 2010. i contacted honda (see case #n012010-06-1101413) i advised them that i wanted the new brakes put on the vehicle as the earlier brake shoes appear to be defective. they advised that i would have to pay for that. there is written documentation available that states the brakes are bad and there is a new procedure to put the brake pads on. as that documentation was not available when my brakes were replaced i now still have the defective brake pads that have not been installed according to the new procedure. i would also note that at 17,500 miles my front shoes are almost completely worn also. this is a serious situation which can lead to brake failure resulting in a serious accident. i would asks you to look at ww.carcomplaints.com for further documentation my hyperlink is http://www.carcomplaints.com/honda/accord/2008/brakes/premature_brake_wear.shtml and is complaint #836. i would also refer you to this link which explains the details further http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2050392. in short this is an extremely serious problem that honda has until this point apparently covered up.

2008 honda accord - 4 door: at approximately 7:47 am on friday, june 4, 2010, i was turning into a parking space in an open air lot, with the wheel turned hard to the left, i went to put my foot on the brake and the car lurched forward as if i was pressing on the accelerator. i could not figure out what was happening and when i looked down at my foot, it was on the left side of the brake pedal. even slamming down on the brake did not prevent me from smashing into the nissan xterra in the parking spot in front of mine and pushing the suv forward quite a bit. there was no floor mat issue obstructing the accelerator, it was several inches away in its usual position. hopefully, this will be the only failure. i called the police who filed a report. my insurance company told me to get an appraisal of the damage. no one was in the nissan, but damage was done to his vehicle as well. luckily no one was injured.

I purchased a 2008 honda accord lx, 3.2l in august of 2008. it currently has 22676 miles and i had to replace the rear brakes last week. i began hearing a squeaking noise the week before and took the car to my local honda service center. they informed me that the rear brakes were completely worn. i questioned the brake wear because of the low miles on my vehicle and the fact that it is a front wheel drive car. honda stated that they are aware the brakes are an issue, however it will not be covered under warranty.

I purchased a brand new 2008 honda accord ex 2.4l in may of 2008. since then i have had numerous break problems including early wear of the rear break pads and warping of the rotors(starting at about 19000 miles). my vehicle currently has 35,000 miles and under normal circumstances i do not believe that break pads or rotors should deteriorate at such low miles. according to the 2008 honda accord rear break pad settlement, i believe that all break related problems such as rotor warp should be included as well. the rotor warp causes the steering while/car to shake while applying the breaks and causes excessive noise and instability in breaking when breaking on a decline (ie. hill or mountain).

I have a 2008 honda accord at 48000 miles maint has been done as required and recently the car has begun shutting off while driving stalling the engine. it is quite scary because today we were driving on the highway and all of a sudden it stopped. i am taking it to the dealer tomorrow but wanted to send in a complaint in the event that other honda owners are having the same issue. it could prove deadly if someone is not near a median where they can pull over to.
