Tl-the contact owns a 2008 honda accord coupe. the contact stated that the wheel rim on the vehicle which was manufactured by honda was defective. the manufacturer uses a clearcoat on their wheel rims which causes water to enter underneath, which has caused corrosion. the vehicle was inspected by the dealer and could not diagnose the failure, but claims that the contact applied chrome cleaner to the wheel rim which may have caused the failure. the manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. he then took the vehicle to a tire company to inspect the wheel rim and they informed him that they were defective and should be replaced. the vehicle has not been repaired for the wheel rims. the failure and current mileage was approximately 6,350. tb

Make : honda model : accord model year 2008 other essential information - i want to bring to your attention that the inside of the honda alloy wheels are not sealed or painted from the factory. the wheel is already corroding the aluminum with pits with metal missing. after 2 more winters the salt on the roads will dangerously weaken the wheel strength leading to failure at speed. this is a real hidden danger that i thought should be looked into since honda dealer sees no problem with the corroding aluminum. if the wheels where simply painted or clear coated from the factory on the inside like they are on the outside then this would not be become the hidden danger this type of wheel will present to the unsuspecting public. *tr
