 1. i believe the rear brake system on 2010 accord has a design flaw that causes the inboard rear brake pads to wear unevenly and to wear faster than the outboard pads. 2. the rear brake pads have had to be replaced twice since i purchased this vehicle new, on october 7, 2009: the first replacement was on september 2, 2011 at 36,365 miles and the second replacement was on march 12, 2013 at 67,699 miles. 3. march 12, 2013 pad replacement. the inboard pads on both sides are worn down far more than the outboard pads. also, the inboard pads are worn unevenly: one of the inboard pads has 2 mm left on the end near the break pad wear indicator & 3 mm left on the other end, the other inboard pad has 1 mm left on the end near the break pad wear indicator & 2 mm of pad left on the other end. the outboard pads are worn evenly and both have 5-6 mm of pad remaining. 4. this is just not right! both inboard and outboard should wear evenly and at the same rate and give more than 31,000

The rear brakes prematurely wear out. i have had to replace the rear brakes twice. first at 23000 miles and again at 53000 miles.

The rear brakepads on honda accord 2010 wear off at 45,000 miles. i've had honda civic before and no such issue. the accord has poorly made brakepads and according to honda dealers -- the pads should last at least 70,000 miles. very unhappy with honda -- they settled a brakepad lawsuit for 2008 and 2009 model but did not fix the 2010 model. *tr

Rear brakes diagnosed by honda as requiring immediate attention due to excessive wear. this with only 21810 miles. honda claims wear is at the low end of average. i feel wear is extremely premature. honda claims no mechanical manfunction contributed to the wear and repairs are not covered by warranty. this vehicle has a normal mix of highway and town driving with very little city driving. *tr

The right rear brake makes a noise as if the brake pads are worn out and it sounds like metal surfaces scratching each other. notified honda and they said the brake pads are not covered. i have an appointment with honda to take it for repair. both bake pads until 70000 miles(generally this is the life for brake pads) and the related wear caused by worn out brake pads should be covered by honda. *tr

Had to replace rear brakes on new 2010 honda accord. this seems very premature for a new car. we are disappointed our car is not covered by the earlier class action, even though it is a 2010. honda should not be allowed to sell cars if rear brakes fail at 20,000+ miles. *tr

I own a 2010 honda accord v6. i have had this car for one year. the mileage is just over 18,000 miles. when i took my car in for inspection on yesterday at the honda dealership, they informed me that my rear brakes will need to be replaced within the next three months. i have owned hondas every since 1989 and premature brake wear has never occurred with any of the honda that i have owned. please tell me what i can do to get some type of resolution for this problem. i feel this is a safety issue because your brakes are the most important thing in a car. also, this car has a faulty front bumper. it is attached to the car by snaps. these snaps break and the bumper starts separating from the car. i have taken it back to the honda dealership and they sent it to their body shop but the bumper is still try to separate from the car. if the bumper comes off it could cause an accident.

2010 honda accord. pre-mature rear brake ware. i have 25,ooo miles, all highway. the rear brakes had to be replaced. i went to honda. they said it was my fault. and wanted $ 250, to fix. said i needed new roators (lie, local shop said rear brake shot, not roators. dealer no help. called american honda, they said they would call the dealer, and try to help. dealer told them i was never there. i have invoice, there is a class action suite, for 2009 rear brakes, not my 2010.  Rear brakes prematurely wearing out after 18,000 miles
11/29/201019359
My 2010 honda accord coupe was making a metallic squealing sound when i applied the brakes (and, eventually, after applying the brakes). i took my car to the dealer (union park honda in wilmington de) to have the brakes looked at and was told that they needed to be replaced with an updated factory part. afterward i saw the numerous complaints about 2008-2009 honda accord rear brake wear after as little as 15,000 miles. my 2010 accord (which was not one of the 2010's included in the class action lawsuit) had almost identical issues. also of note is that the rear brakes were at 1mm of material left (out of 10mm), while the front brakes were at 7mm (out of 10mm), so this would not indicate wear due to driving conditions.

At 18,000 miles the car rear brakes started to squeak when applying the brakes for awhile the problem would disappear but the car would shudder when coming to a complete stop, now when i drive the squeaking noise continues as i drive and doesn't go away this afternoon sept. 2, 2010 i have appointment to fix this issue.
08/20/201125000
At 18,000 miles the car breaks started to squeak but after a few miles it stopped squeaking. at 19,000 miles my car started to shake a bit when i applied the breaks and it then continued to squeak every time i applied the breaks. on 8/20 i brought my vehicle in to have the breaks done at pepboys and they told me my rear breaks had gone through the pad and was tearing into the rotor. my accord only has ~25,000 miles on it and the front brakes are fine.

I own a 2010 accord with 11000 miles on it, 9 months old. the rear brake pads are supposed to be worn out and the dealer wont cover it under warranty. i was told that it will cost $199+tax and i had to leave the vehicle with the service station for 3 days for the part to be stocked.

My 2010 honda accord is loud when starting, sounds like a race car. it also does not stop on a dime and in fact speeds up as i apply the brakes. thirdly, the revs are too high and lastly, the gear shifts on acceleration is not smooth at all and sounds like the car is pushing too hard to change gears! these problems happen all the time. i took to dealer month ago saw nothing. only had car two months!!

2010 honda accord. consumer writes in regards to problems with vehicle brakes *tgw the consumer stated five months after purchasing the vehicle, the brakes failed. she took the vehicle to the dealer for an inspection, and the dealer stated brakes were considered wear and tear. it was never mentioned to the consumer, that there was a recall on the brakes. honda denied the consumer's request for reimbursement, due to the claim was postmarked after the claim filing deadline of either november 29, 2010 or 90 days after the listed date of the repair, whichever was later. the consumer stated the brakes have been replaced three times. also, there was a sharp metal object sticking out from the driver's seat. *jb

I went to the honda dealership for service on my 2010 honda accord sedan, the dealer said my rear brakes need to be replaced. my front brakes were fine and had twice as much pad life left on them compared to the rear pads. the cost would be $249- to replace the rear pads. i have never owned a car where the rear brakes need replacing before the front brakes. this is very concerning to me and needs to be addressed.

Brakes wear out and develop hot spots. had to replace either brake pads or rotors often. honda doesn't admit it as their problem and making me pay for each of these incidents costing me a fortune. unfortunately, my vin is not on the settlement reached. each time i go to dealer with brake problems, he re-surfaces rotors causing additional wear.

I purchased my 2010 honda accord in oct 2010; i brought my car back to dealer 3 times for the same problem, excessive vibration during braking. dealer re-surfaced the first 2 times, replaced rotor the third time. however, after 7k miles, the problem came back again.

Multiple times i will press on my brakes and my car will attempt to accelerate. i have to completely press my brakes in to get the car to decrease in speed but it will sound like it is stalling and make a rumbling sound. i had the recall done. it seemed to work for a short period of time (3 mths) and now it's back to doing the same thing. i went to the dealership today to only find out now i need to get my brakes replaced at a little less than 35k on my car and the front brakes have no wear. i also was told that the recall was not for that.

I took my car for a regular service at the dch academy honda and the service dealer told me that i need to replace rear brakes. it was very surprising that at 22k miles the rear brakes have gone. he told me about the complaint filed for the 2008-2009 and some 2010 models. i filed the complaint and found out that my vin is not eligible for a reimbursement. i believe they should consider all the 2010 models. i dont know what is the criteria honda has to indentify faulty brakes. clearly, honda has flaw in keeping track of thier inventory or they are not willing to acknoloege cusoter complains and act on the informaiton.

When i took the car for servicing to the open road honda (rt 1s) in nj, they told me that the wear and tear on the rear break pad is heavy and it needs to be replaced. i drove the car mostly highways during my previous job for most of the miles and i didn't even apply much breaks and now the dealer is saying that the rear break pad is gone and it needs to be replaced. however the front pad is as good as new. how can it be ?. i came to know that there is a class action suit with honda on this subject, but it seems they're covering only a certain few vin number, this is total absurdity, if the breaking system is failing for any / all models of honda, it should be considered.

I went to a local sears automotive service center after i'd heard squeaking coming from the rear of my vehicle. a co-worker told me it sounded like a problem with my brakes and that i should have them checked. the mechanic showed me the brake pads that came from the rear brakes of my car--there was no padding left! another mechanic advised me that he'd seen a lot of hondas come in in a similar condition--front brake pads showing some wear and rear brake pads with almost no padding remaining. he advised me to call honda and ask about recalls. i called the local honda dealership and was advised to visit this wesbite: www.accordsettlement.com. i called for assistance because it didn't appear that my vin was included. i contacted girard gibbs llp, who said they couldn't assist me because my car was not affected by the class action lawsuit. i think that this braking issue should be further investigated--it appears that it affects more than just the first nine 2010 models produced (as girard gibbs llp claims), as i'm experiecing similar problems to other accord owners. brakes are a very component of one's vehicle!

The rear brakes on my honda accord have worn out prematurely. after just over a year of owning my car i already need to replace the rear brake pads. the honda dealer did not seem suprised when i brought my car in with this problem and then after some searching i found the class action lawsuit that was settled on the 2008 accords for the same problem: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/100408-honda-settles-lawsuit-over-accord-brakes/. honda is clearly aware of this issue, and they should be held responsible for it, and fix this problem. i am very disappointed that i will be having to take my car in for new brake pads 2 to 3 times more often than any other car i could have bought. i chose honda for its reliability and now i am being let down.

A couple of weeks ago the brakes started squealing. this has happened several times in the past two weeks. serveral times the brakes were slow to respond and squealed loudly. i have a 2010 honda accord v-6. in june i had to have my rotors turned because the car would shimmy when i used the brakes. honda service said that the warranty didnot cover this. i bought the car new and only have ~25k miles on it. the mileage is 90% highway and interstate miles and there should be no reason tha the brake pads should be replaced other than poor material. i have read about the class action lawsuit, but not sure what to do next..

Took my 2010 honda accord into priority honda in chesapeake, va to have the routine oil change and tire rotation done. i have been taking my car there since it was brand new to have all the scheduled maintenances done. at 30,000 miles, i am being told i need rear brakes and they are almost metal-to-metal and that honda was aware of the issue and would reimburse me up to 150.00 of the repair cost which was close to 200.00. i called honda automobile customer service to only be told by them that my vin# is not covered and it was only very few 2010 accords that were affected. when i called the dealership back, they simply just apologized that they had given me wrong information, advised me that it was normal for rear brakes to wear out in 30,000 miles (which i know is not correct), and said it was wear and tear and i had to pay for the cost of repairs. really....this is the second honda i have purchased, but i am mighty afraid it will be my last and i am seriously considering trading it in for anything other than a honda asap. what is also very concerning is i see that i am not the only one that has had the same exact problem.

At 28,000 miles the rear brakes had to be replaced, rotors cut to the cost of $314.59. i bought the car on march 29, 2010 brand new. john in the service department at middletown honda tells me the front brakes are perfect and this is normal wear and tear on the rear brakes- really. i drive highway miles to and from work, no excessive braking so not it is not normal wear and tear on rear brakes. never had this kind of problem with any of my oher new cars - never had this problem. the only thing i was able to get from john was the 800 number to call because he thought he had heard something about a class action suit. thought, really hmmm. in all my years of driving, over 40 years, never have i had this kind of issue any of my cars nor had the service department show the nonchalant attitiude towards a customor. repeat business, i don't think so.
