I was traveling about 25 mph and was hit head-on by a driver in a ford taurs traveling about 40 mph in the wrong lane. both air bags in the tarus deployed and mine, in the 1999 honda civic did not deploy. the impact of the crash has caused injuries to my chest from the seatbelt which probably could be expected, and saved my life; and injuries to my neck and back from the forward thrust caused by the head -on impact. but, the air bags should have deployed in the honda. it is unreasonable to think they would not deploy based on the degree of the impact . the honda body shop manager said the other car hit the honda above the frame rails, which is why they did not deploy. if that is the case, the air bags will not deploy in most crashes that this vehicle is involved in. this is a vehicle design defect. i have digital pictures of the damaged honda . sincerely, bob hamilton, csp.*ak
