I was driving on the interstate on a clear day. all of a sudden, my car started fish tailing, and i was unable to get back in control of the car. my car spun around 360 degrees twice, crashing into a concrete median. my passender side front & rear bumpers as well as my front & rear quarter panels were crushed. the rims were also bent on the front & rear passenger side of the car. this was all the result of a 2 brand new toyo tires, on the rear wheels, that had only been on the car 3 days. the new, passenger side, rear tire blew out. these tires were: p185/65r14. due to the hood & trunk being shifted, the car barely avoided being totalled out due to potential structural damage underneath. *jb

My back left tire blew out while driving at approximately 70 mph (speed limit) on the interstate. my tires had just been rotated and balanced, and the air pressure adjusted on saturday, january 11, 2003. at that time, no problems were reported. i had 33,000 miles on the car/tires and had the tires rotated every 7500 miles. my tires were firestone fr680, p185/65r14 85s. this happened without warning, causing the car to begin a sudden spin across the interstate. no one was injured, unbelievably. i returned to the place where i had my tires rotated and balanced just two days before. they were very helpful and replaced the tire at no cost. they also inspected the valve of the tire that had a blowout and found it to have a leak.

Tire blew with tremendous force while driving on freeway, causing the cv boot to break, firestone dealer examined the tire and stated it was due to road hazard, consumer stated there us a tiny hole that could be a nail hole, but is doubtful that is what caused the tire blow out,(firestone tires- tire size p185/r14.*jb

First incident occurred while makeing emergency stop on hiway. car stopped accordingly but left flat spots on both front tires creating hazardous driving condition. second incident occurred during normal slowing down. abs was not available on vehicle in order to reduce overall weight. this in addition to the poor craftmanship of the oem xgt v4 tires on the vehicle made for a disaster waiting to happen. tires on automobile were not water savvy as one would believe. car totalled. *ak (tiresize: p195/55r15)( dot number: tire size: p195/55r15 )

We had four aquatred iii tires placed on the vehicle on march 28th. my wife and i couldnt pick up the car on the 28th, so we drove to mueller tire & brake store on the morning of march 29th. the phone number of the westlake store is: 440-899-1888. the address is 25409 detroit road, westlake, oh, 44145. after picking up the car at 9:17:54 a.m. (on the invoice), i was driving to work. i drove about 5 miles on i-90 eastbound towards downtown cleveland. i was driving about 60 to 65 miles per hour. i had just turned on my radio when i noticed that the tire noise seemed to be increasing. i turned off the radio, and started moving towards the right hand land. the tire noise continued to increase. i was hoping it was a precautionary measure, but i decided to get ready to pull off on the west 117th exit (exit number 166). my hopes of precaution disappeared when i started smelling burning rubber. i then looked in my drivers side rearview mirror and noticed that my left rear tire was belching smoke. the rear of the car started to shake. i pulled off a little ways onto the exit ramp. i then got out to see if i could possibly drive the car to a service station, but the tire was completely destroyed. the tread was ok, but the inner and outer sidewalls were completely shredded. im not quite sure how i was able to get the car off the highway. *ak (dot number: dot#2800 tiresize: 185/65r14)

Two weeks after purchase of car, i noticed that the left front tire had developed a bubble. firestone dealer replaced tire at no charge and told me that the tread had separated. i am now reporting this in light of the other firestone recalls and problems, though i do not know if they are related.  Just after merging onto the highway and reaching full speed, ahumming noise was heard without any noticeable vibration. within a few seconds, while slowing to allow traffic to clear, the driver's side rear tire failed. i heard a loud exposion and saw rubber fragments over my left shoulder. luckily, i was able to control the vehicle and quickly pull off the highway. upon inspection, only the outer edge of the tire remained on the rim. the entire tread portion of the tire was gone. all four tires had adequate pressure, were rotated at 7500 miles by henrick honda, and were original equipment when the vehicle was purchased new late last year. i immediately contacted firestone and following their instructions to file a claim. recently, i received a letter from firestone denying my request for compensation, siting insufficient air pressure evidenced by the tattered sidewalls and melted inner liner. as i stated previously, these tires were not low on pressure and were kept in excellent condition. the severity of this failure coupled with firestone's unwillingness to provide any compensation is the reason i'm filing this complaint. i truly believe that if one of the front tires had failed, i would have suffered a serious or fatal injury.*ak (dot number: vn7jmnh379 tiresize: 18565r14)

I was proceeding approximately 35 mph through a neighborhood when the front left tire of my car blew out. the consequence was temoprary loss of control of my car which resulted in my car hitting the curb and doing damage to my wheels. goodyear investigated and stated that there was a substantial impact causing over-deflection of the tire and fracture of the steal belt package and or linear material. as i was present, clearly the blowout took place prior to any impact of the car. goodyear denies any responsibility or liability.

I had originally purchased goodyear aquatred3 tires for my honda civic, on janurary 24,2004. in the time that the tires were purchased until the first tire issue, i had only put about 1000 miles on the tires. on march 13, 2004 i was driving along the freewayin the fast lane. the front driver side tire blew out due to sidewall failure of the tire. this caused the hub cap to disinigrate as well as bending the rim. upon getting the tire placed with another goodyear aquatred3, i moved the driver side rear tire to the drivers side front, and replaced the bent rim with a new rim and had that tire and rim installed on the drivers side rear. on march 26, 2004 the tire that was moved to the drivers side front, had developed a tennis ball side ballon on the side wall, luckily i had felt the car start to shake and pulled over before i had another blow out. i am now having all the tires replaced. *ak
