I am a resident of charleston sc and it gets fairly hot here with summer month temperatures. i have a 2007 honda civic and the sun visors ( both of them) have melted , cracked and broken from my car getting warmer inside while sitting.the visors hang in the line of view for myself and passengers of my vehicle. i feel that this car is fairly new,and a safety issue like this should not be happening this is pretty common occurrence after researching this.

The driver's side sun visor of my 2007 honda civic has suddenly split and will not stay up. it hangs down obstructing my view of the road-a safety hazard. it doesn't stay all the way up or down. it has split at the plastic seam & the spring mechanism seems to be broken. this sun visor was replaced by the dealer when i bought the car new, as the color was tan and my car is grey. my car is no longer under warrenty & i am taking it to the dealer for a replacement. this seems to be a problem related to heat in the cabin. i live in the south but leave my front windows open 2 inches as i have side visors & do not park in a garage.

I was on a 700 mile trip to visit my family member. in the midway the a/c condenser got damaged and a/c stopped working that lead to suffocation due to hot and humid environment. i had to drive the car for 7 hours in 110 f temperature with open windows on highway. i dehydrated and fell sick and vomited couple of times. there is no safety for condenser to protect it to get hit from pebbles on the road. it is a very common safety problem and honda is not fixing it. this incident could lead to accident and/or injury.

I purchased a 2007 honda civic in late may 2007. in sept 2008, the sun visor on the driver's side broke. when i contacted honda they stated that this problem always occurs in warm climates. the sun visor will malfunction in warm slimates and it is clear that this is a problem on a large scale that should be corrected by honda. i contacted honda and they said until the nhtsa offically recalls the visors, they are under no obligation to do so. early this month in may, the passenger sun visor broke inthe same manner. honda is currently stating that they cannot cover this under warranty because the car has exceed its mileaage limit of 36,000 miles. however, this equipment failure is not related to mileage but in fact they have acknowledged that the part in the sun visor will break in all warm climates.

I was pulling into a parking space when all of the sudden the car started to accelerate. i was pushing as hard as i could on the breaks and they weren't working. i then ran into a tree and immediately put the car into park. i had to turn the car off because it was smoking. i am not sure if the engine was still running after i hit the tree or not. i know that my foot was firmly planted on the brake, checked to see where my feet were after hitting the tree and turning the car off. i have never had this happen before in my car. it only has 34000 miles. it has had regular maintenance such as oil change and the tires were replaced at 25,000 miles.

I took my 2007 honda civic to the dealer because of extreme vibrations from the rear of the car. i was told that the rear suspension is bad, causing my rear tires to go bad. they said that they had seen this problem on other cars and would pay for half of the price for a new set of tires but only if i bought the tires from them. my car is 15 months old and i have already had it in the shop twice for problems. i will never buy another honda. *tr

A/c out on 1 year old honda civic. dealer says rock hit the a/c condenser. this is either a faulty part or a design flaw and has been noted by honda owners as far back as 2003 (according to web research). car is currently in san diego and this is a safety issue as an over heated driver could be distracted or drowsy. car has not yet been fixed - honda denies any responsibility and cost to fix is over $600. *tr

I bought my new '07 civic lx four weeks ago. when i turn on the air conditioner on low: it consistently cycles (a vertical fan near the engine) and makes a very loud clicking noise every seven seconds (like dropping a marble on a piece of metal). the noise continues--whether the car is stopped or moving--and seems to get louder and louder; to the point where other passengers in my car are hearing it (even if i have the radio turned on). the only way to stop the noise it to turn the fan speed to high--so the vertical fan near the engine continuously runs (doesn't turn on and off). the noise doesn't occur when the heater is turned on. i took my car to the auto dealer: the first time, the manager didn't have the a/c inspected--told me that it's normal. a week later, i took it to the dealer a second time: they claim to have compared with like vehicle...air conditioner operating as designed by honda. (that's what was written on my customer copy repair invoice.) my auto dealer never showed me the like vehicle to prove to me that--the consistent loud noise--is a normal procedure. i've driven less superior cars (ford escort and chevrolet tracker) and never had such a problem. *tr

I just purchased a 2007 honda civic sedan ex 2 weeks ago. it only has 800 miles on it. i have done nothing more than normal driving and the air conditioner stopped working. it began blowing hot air. i took it to my dealer and they said that a stone had puntured the air conditioner condenser. they said it was just bad luck and it is not covered uner warranty from honda. it cost me $675.50. i did my research on the internet and others have experienced the same problem with low mileage new honda's. this is obviously a problem with honda's design. something needs to be done.

Purchased 2007 honda civic ex on 3/10/07. on 8/7/07 took car in for routine maint. oil pan drain plug replaced. on 8/9/07 steering system made noise when turning. took to dealer, no problem found. on 10/8/07 took car back to dealer with same issue. dealer said during assembly some rear wheel speed sensors may have been improperly installed and do not seal the hub assembly. sensors were inspected and they deemed no repair necessary. on 12/26/07 took car to dealer for same noise when turning wheel. steering wheel locked up when driving!! when accelerating, car made a whining type of noise. dealer kept my car over night and found p/s pump whining due to no fluid in system. p/s rack was leaking. power steering reservoir was empty. found power steering rack leaking from both ends. replaced power steering rack and realigned wheels. on 7/7/08 took car to dealer, steering wheel locked up again while driving. still have noise when turning the steering wheel back and forth. dealer kept my car for 3 days without giving a loner to me. when dealer did diagnostic, they pulled up 7 codes and stated gauge control lost communication, may be old codes related to past repairs. did not find a cause for steering to lock. found that the noise when turning the wheel was caused from the seal at the firewall was rubbing on steering shaft. corrected insulation and found when at idle and turning wheel, hood vibrated and made a noise. they adjusted rubber stoppers and rechecked saying it is all ok. now, today on 7/17/08 i had steering wheel lock up on me for a brief second. took my car to a mechanic i know and they told me to fill out this form. they said the noise i hear in my steering column should have been fixed by dealer. i called dealer at 3 pm today and will be taking my car back to dealer tomorrow morning at 9. my car is still randomly having the steering freeze on me when driving, the noise when turning my steering wheel, and i now have a crackling noise in my a/c! *tr

Air conditioning condenser coil received damage apparently caused bt a pebble that was kicked up while driving on the highway. this appears to be a common problem amongst honda owners from the research i've done, particularly with late-model hondas. there is virtually no protection against such an event and this part appears much too fragile to be exposed as it is. the condenser must be replaced and i'm waiting to hear from the service manager whether he'll cover it under the warranty, but i'm expecting to have to file an insurance claim. *nm
