I was at a red light waiting for the green light to turn to the left. when the green light appeared, i accelerated at a speed of 15 when out of no where i heard a boom sound coming from the engine. this seem very abnormal to me since i had barely purchase my car 4 months ago. i took my car to the honda dealer to see what was going on with my car. after waiting a few hours, the mechanic told me there were many things wrong with the car. the boom sound was made by the breakage of the wishbone that holds the lower engine and besides that it needed 2 tires, alignment, cabinfilter, brake flush, p/s rack. i honestly don't think it is fair to me that i bought a 2009 car for it to have this many problems. when i bought my car the man from auto plaza told me that i wouldn't be having any problems with my car for a long time and then i find out all of this parts wrong with my car. after this incident, i went to talk to the man from auto plaza and he told me that when they had purchase the car they didn't inspect it before putting it on sale.this action seems to me very irresponsible to not have inspected the car before putting it on sale. i honestly didn't know what else to do and this is why i'm writing a complaint here. please help me with my situation.

My 2009 honda civic ex, polished metal metallic, has paint that has been fading on the roof and trunk. the spots affected are: between the windshield and sunroof, above the back window, and the top of the trunk lid. i purchased the car brand new from the dealer in february of 2009. the car is only four years old and now has 22,800 miles. i should not be having these issues!

Sun visor on passenger side of car hangs down. it will not stay up in the unused position. this is the second honda i have had with the same problem. honda of america says it is out of warranty so they will not replace or repair the part. this is dangerous because the visor blocks visibility to the right of the vehicle. there are numerous examples of this same problem on the internet. why is there no recall on this part? thank you.

The vehicle purchased new from a honda dealership in waukesha wis. on 11-28-2008. one yr. after purchase we noticed the engine would suddenly accelerate, when backing up, braking. the engine would suddenly accelerated for no apparent reason. the driver would need to depress the brake pedal with greater force, and then shift auto. trans into neutral. we took it back to the dealer 3 separate times, and they indicated they were unable to find the problem. on one occasion per their suggestion we purchased the rubber all weather honda floor mats at a cost of $110.00. i doubted this would fix the problem. in november 2011 the same problem was experienced a fourth time in a parking lot. while waiting in a parking lot the engine accelerated suddenly, and more pressure was applied to the brake pedal and shift into neutral. i notified the dealership of the continuing problem. on 11-29-2011 we left the civic at the dealer, and wayne nicklas the (ahm) would also examine the car with a mechanic. the mileage was 26,526. mr. nicklas met with us. he explained how they checked the tire depth, pressure, and the overall condition of the car. i then asked for specifics about the sudden acceleration, and he indicated they were unable to find the problem. according to mr. nicklas, there was no abnormal engine code, and it was possible that the problem did not occur long enough for the computer to record it. he denied other similar problems reported with civics. we found similar consumer complaints filed on web sites with civics involved in accidents. it was suggested we trade in the vehicle. we felt unsafe in continuing to operate the vehicle. the honda dealer left us hanging, and offered us no further help with trading in the vehicle. we incurred a substantial loss when we traded in the civic at another dealership. research found this is not an isolated issue by any means,

On 8/15/11, vehicle was brought to a honda chicago for lof & rotate. dropped off, came back, drove vehicle found loud roaring noise. tires were rotated then discovered the tire that came off r/r was cupped. vehicle has 15k miles, barely driven by my mom thats in her 60s, doesn't travel the expressways. honda chicago wouldn't do anything so i made a complaint with honda care; was told bring it back to honda. honda chicago said, sir, nothing wrong with the suspension and may possibly need an alignment. i told the service advisor there was no complaint of pulling/drifting. dealer and honda care are useless, nothing was done so i paid for a new tire somewhere else. last week, vehicle back at honda elmhurst and then to honda des plaines for a 2nd opinion for samething. both dealers stated nothing wrong but the front tires currently have 3/32s, l/r 2/32s and r/r 6/32s. the dealership didn't even offer tires to be replaced. the vehicle currently has 18k miles on it, a ticking noise that comes for the vehicle when it's idling in reverse and the mysterious r/r tire concern. i contacted honda care today spoke with a claim rep and requested to have a honda regional rep or someone other than the dealership's mechanic to inspect the vehicle since it's been to 3 different dealerships. i also requested to be reimbursed for the r/r tire that was replaced. i was told, we're not doing anything at this time and that i would need to take the vehicle back to the honda dealership in elmhurst, il and to have the service manager get involved. the claim rep also stated that he spoke with the service manager of that same dealership and was told there's nothing wrong with the vehicle. i questioned the claim rep stated the service manager wasn't involved with the repairs on my vehicle, his service advisor was so of couse he would tell you whats on the invoice.

We purchased 2009 honda civic lx new in late 2009. by july of 2010 we had to replace all 4 tires due to excessive wear (36k miles). i regularly rotated tires every 7000k miles. 3/20/12- i replaced all 4 tires again due to severe cupping on both rear tires. honda dealership states it is a control arm issue causing tire damage but would not pay for part or labor. this is a serious problem and needs to be corrected by honda for free before someone gets hurt.

Car has 58,000k miles on it and replacing tires for the 4th time. the car continues to cause premature wear on tires even when car has a good alignment, tires are kept at correct air pressure level and rotated on a regular basis.

This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle. the car was put into park and it moved forward and almost stalled. i had step on the brake to keep from moving forward anymore. this sound like the same complaint listed on the most recent recall made by honda on the their accord's and cr-v's.

2009 honda civic. air conditioner started to blow out warm air. this was about 6 months after purchasing the vehicle. i live in the upper midwest and the issue occured soon after the weather warmed up. i took it to boyland honda in milwaukee, wi where i purchased the vehicle. they corrected the problem and the air worked for the rest of the summer. one year later i have the exact same issue. the air conditioner is once again blowing out warm air. i have an appointment to take the car in to honda of kenosha. i don't trust that boyland actually corrected the problem so would like to try another dealer. i only have 12,999 miles on the vehicle and have been without air conditioning on two different occasions. my wife has a cr-v (our 2nd) and i have the civic (also our 2nd) i have always had good luck, this is the first time i have encountered an issue like thies.

2009 honda civic 22,472 miles mostly freeway miles. grinding noise from front brakes, took vehicle to dealer, they said i needed new pads and to have the rotors turned. inboard pad (piston side of caliper) was worn to wear indicator, outboard pad still with approx. 90% pad life left although there is a groove in the rotor. told dealer that this was unacceptable wear and he aknowledged it was a common complaint but not covered under warranty. a quick search of complaints on google affirms that this is indeed a common complaint and indicative of a serious design flaw on honda's part.

My 2009 honda civic lx was a total waste of money, simply due to the anti-whiplash headrest. i am a 5'5 female, and i have been spending tons of money on chiropractor bills since purchasing my car! i know these are now standard issue, because i have been car shopping for months now, and all the cars (made after 2007) have the same stupid headrest. who in the world decided these are safe and comfortable??? go to google and you will find forum after forum of people complaining, yet nothing is being done? americans are spending millions of dollars on cars (buying) but nhtsa is trying to make them as uncomfortable as possible. maybe i should send you my chiropractor bills and a bill for the amount of my time that i am spending trying to find a new car/a comfortable solution??? my neck and back hurt----alot-----all the time now, because i have to drive my car daily, to get to work!!!!

I was stopped at a stop sign with my foot on the brake of my 2009 honda civic when the car's engine suddenly revved to 4000rpm. i placed the car in park and the engine continued to rev at 4000rpm. the entire incident lasted about 10 seconds and then the engine returned to normal idling speed and i continued on my way. the vehicle, which has about 11,000 miles, is currently at a honda dealer for evaluation.

I have a 2009 honda civic that has 35,000 miles on it. i have taken care of my vehicle in the 1 year i have owned it. my car recently started making a loud thumping noise driven at all speeds. i brought the vehicle in to the local honda dealership where i bought it and they first tried to tell me that my tires were wearing down and i needed an alignment. i said wait i had this same issue with my 2008 honda and the control arm was recalled. the dealer kept saying that my tires have uneven wear and cupping. which is the exact description of what would cause such dramatic wear is such a quick time. the dealer then said that since there has not been a recall there is nothing that they could do. my car is still under full warrenty, but technically they can say the cause for the uneven wear cupping. it sounds like a helicopter is hitting my car when i drive my new car. this is not safe, and this is excessive for new vehicles and not owners faults. hazard for all.

 1. the car would not turn over when you turn the key after the car had been driving for a while. 2. came out one morning and car would not turn over called aaa and dealer, checked the battery green light was bright got car to start and went to dealer, 3. they said starter was bad and replaced with a new one under warranty. about 3 to 4 weeks later problem came back and was able to start car and took to dealer again and this time they could not find any problem they just noted it and awaiting for the issue to happen again
