| I bought a fully loaded 2012 honda civic si sedan, with navigation. car was wonderful first few weeks, then the issues started. when i engaged the clutch into 1st gear, also reverse, when i would level the clutch with the gas pedal, i would hear a high pitch noise. kind of like a squeal. in all types of conditions. it is worse in the snow, rain, up a hill, and what not. i took it to my local honda dealership, the tech testdrove it with me. he heard the noise, he said that he heard it. he thinks it was something hitting the clutch-plate. he said oh honda is not gong to fix this due to your style of driving i said excuse me? he said well there is no need to have an intake, and an exhaust. by the magnuson-moss warranty act of 1975 it states: if a vehicle is bought new, and you put aftermarket parts on it, just because there are aftermarket parts, it does not void the warranty. if the dealership realizes the issue, and just verbally says they can't fix it due to the parts, without even lifting the car up, that is illegal. they have to find the issue, and say why the aftermarket parts are affecting the clutch. i then called the delership owners son, he said email me the issues, and the vin. i did, he forwarded it to the customer service manager. when he received the email, there was a corporate honda representative there. he read my email, and said that they need to look at it. the manager called me, said he received the email that i sent the owner, he said they have to re-make the sound again, even tho they heard it, and put me threw the ringer again. there are also alot of parts inside that need to be replaced. so i have an appointment next tuesday, hopefully for them to see the issues. there are many people on forums for the 12 si, 9th gen, that are complaining also. the honda rep said that it was normal in many clutches to hear a high pitched noise? | |||

| I was driving on the interstate on a very cold morning, i was in the right lane, no one was even around me and all of a sudden i hear a load pop, i looked over & my passengers side, 'vent window' had shattered into a million pieces. it did stay in tact but honda dealer says something must have hit it. i personally think the vent blowing the warm air on the cold window effected it. this may be a little window but it's not cheap to fix. i am wondering if there have been any other complaints regarding this... | |||

| After filling up for gas, i turn my vehicle on and the instrument panel went crazy with warning lights and audio warnings. i shut the vehicle off, waited a few seconds, and then started the vehicle. this time the vsa and abs warning lights remained on, along with the lcd screen showing a system failure on these two systems. the vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was diagnosed that the vsa modulator module was completely fried. this is very disturbing to me, as the vehicle only had 827 miles on it when the problem occured, and the module fried while sitting at a gas station (the car was not moving). the dealer is fixing my car under warranty, but the mere fact that this happen on a vehicle with such low mileage and not moving is a concern - not to mention the price of this module (~ $900.00). | |||

| Rev. suddenly goes about 3500prm and stay there for a while when i drive downhill. at that moment when you step on the gas pedal the car will not accelerate like normal. sometime there are car behind you and this is very dangerous because your car can not go as far as the car behind you. please test the 2012 honda civic, this car have problem. | |||

| My wife came to a stop at our security gate, used the remote for the gate but it wouldn't open. she backed up about 15 feet to turn around. when she put the car in drive, it lurched forward back towards the gate and wouldn't stop when she applied the brakes. it didn't speed up and it wouldn't stop. the car was making a grinding noise as it moved along. she was jamming on the brakes and it still went right through the closed gate, pushing it open as it went. it kept going for another 40-50 feet until she thought to pull on the emergency brake. the car stopped. she turned the car off and got out, badly shaken but not injured. after calming down, she got back in the car to see if it would start. it did. she drove it two more blocks to our house. she hasn't driven it since. she's terrified it will happen again. | |||

| I am just documenting that this vehicle has a real glare problem due to size and slant of windshield. the entire image of the dash appears on the windshield and the glare is very distracting while driving. i'm sure honda has tried to deal with this issue due to the matte finish on the dash,but it isn't working. i feel like i've made one of the biggest mistakes in buying this vehicle. i hope i don't run someone over, lost in the glare. | |||

| We bought the honda civic in feb 2012. drove about 1000 miles. one day i feel little hesitation in third gear. i open the hood to just check, and found the water all over the engine compartment and hood liner was wet and soggy. i was surprize and worryed thought cooling system busted or loose hose clamp. but after tharough checkup found that rain water seep thru between front hood lip and grill. i told my wife not to drive the car, it's not safe, because water can damage the electric component and may cause fire. so i dry the engine area as much as i could. setup the appointment with honda dealer. first of all the service suppervisor did not belive, and then she check couple of other cars same model and year,and found that all the cars are the same design nothing missing. she suggest to call the honda manufacture. i asked for the work order, she said there is no problem so no work order need to fillup. i talk to sale person about all this; he said the same. i was very disappointed. i ask for the service manager; and show him the car and problem; he said the same to call manufacture. but atleast he agreed to write the work order. that consumer complaint this, and we could not find any problem. as per consumer the rain water get in to engine compartment and wet the hood liner and other electric equipment and plugs. | |||

| While driving on the highway at 50mph at 2500rpm all of a sudden my rpm went to 4000 without me accelerating more i got scared and tried to slowly slow down the vehicle but rpm remained at 4000. and it remained like that till i stopped the vehicle and restarted it. | |||

| Honda civic hybrid 2012 bought just after six days failed after doing a left turn. all warning lights lit from the dashboard. restarted and was able to drive home but failed to start next day. towed to the nearest honda dealer. service guy after calling honda headquarters determine it was the abs system that caused the failure. still in the shop for repairs. | |||
