Defect SummaryOn certain sedan and hybrid (cng) vehicles, during assembly, the telescopic steering column mechanism may have been over-lubricated with silicone grease. over time, some of this extra grease may drip on the brake light switch causing the switch to fail.
Consequence SummaryFailure may result in a loss of brake lights and an increased risk that the vehicle could be struck in the rear. in addition, a failed brake light switch could prevent shifting the transmission from the park position (vehicles with an automatic transmission).
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the brake light switch and install a protective cover overthe switch free of charge. the recall began on october 2, 2007. owners may contact honda at 1-800-999-1009.

Defect SummaryOn certain vehicles, the wheel speed sensor housing uses an o-ring seal to prevent leakage to or from the wheel bearing. if assembled improperly, the o-ring may not seal properly allowing water to enter the wheel bearing and eventually cause damage to the bearing, especially in areas where use of road salt is prevalent. if the driver continues to drive with this condition it is possible for the wheel bearing to become loose, which could cause the bearing to fail.
Consequence SummaryThis could cause a wheel to fall off of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect the rear abs sensors and wheel bearings for damaged parts and replace them free of charge. the recall began on september 25, 2007. owners may contact honda at 1-800-999-1009.

The bolt that holds the serpentine belt tension idler pulley has failed twice on my vehicle. it's a fatigue failure from bolt bending load; a design failure. i have been fortunate that both failures occurred at low speeds on side streets. if this occurred at speed where i could not pull over immediately, i could have been in severe danger with loss of power, engine seizing and a possible fire.

Summary: i have a 2006 honda civic and the driver's visor just decided to come apart. , but it will not stay up in it's proper position, instead, it falls in front of my face causing me to be distracted i can't see the street lights i cannot afford to replace it just yet as i am expecting a baby. i have to leave it down at all times, and it cannot be pushed back, i have to leave it straight down in my face and bend down to see street lights and other things. it just did this one day, and i never even use my visor. just this week the entire visor cracked and fell off now i have no visor

I have a 2006 honda civic and have had a problem with the sun visors splitting and falling into a down position without being able to put into an up position again. this results in an impeded view of my driving field. when i try to move it to the side window and make a turn the visor hits me in the head causing another issue while driving. within the first year i had to have the driver's side replaced (not sure about the passenger side), but it was under warranty. a year and a half ago i needed to have the driver's side replaced but it wasn't under warranty and i did not have the $65.00 to pay for it. now i need the passenger side replaced and the driver's side is so loose i have to push it up for every stop light so i can see it. it's extremely dangerous how it flops down and blocks your field of view. i made a complaint with honda but they said they can't do anything until there is a recall on the part.
