| I was driving my 2005 honda crv on the freeway when the engine suddenly began to race and the car began to accelerate rapidly. i couldn't feel the gas pedal with my foot. i was able to put the car in neutral, pull off on the shoulder, and turn off the ignition, stopping the engine. i moved the driver's seat backward, got down on the floor to look, and discovered that the factory-equipped floor mat had shifted so it covered the gas pedal. i removed the floor mat, re-started the car, and the problem was gone. but if this problem starts cropping up with other '05 crvs, it is an accident waiting to happen. | |||
