| 3:30am - as i was sleeping, i heard an explosion. as i looked out my bedroom window, i could tell something was on fire in driveway. i ran outside and cr-v was completely engulfed in flames. called 911, fire dept arrived and put fire out. chester county fire marshall arrived @4:30am, nothing suspicious noted. car and contents were a total loss. driveway was ruined, but fortunately no other structures were involved. *tr | |||

| Vehicle began surging then lost power. dash warning lights for vsa, engine, and ! came on as vehicle lost power then stalled. turned off ignition and then restarted. ran fine after it cooled off for a few minutes. still happening over a year later. internet search reveals this is a common problem spread across many model years. dealers unable to solve problem and have no idea what is causing it. | |||

| I have had this vehicle sinse 2006. never had any issues until this year when the abs and vsa light came on. at first there was no issue but it got to the point that even after replacing several sensors the lights would stay on and the vehicle's cruise control could not set. it also had a lag between braking to when the vehicle would stop. finally the engine seased in the middle of the road when my daughter was driving it. we replaced the engine to the tune of 2000.00 and now only a few weeks later the vsa light is back on. | |||

| The ac compressor locked up on 9/13/08. the car has approximately 44300 miles. the car is still drivable without the ac. the dealer quoted $3000 for parts and labor because the failure of the compressor created other problems and all the lines have to be replaced. fortunately, i have an extended 72 month/72k mile warranty which should cover all but $100 deductible. an adjustor must first approve the repairs, so it will be several days because this happened on a saturday. *tr | |||

| When attempting to pass another vehicle i pressed the accelerator down, and starter around the other vehicle, when i had completed my passing, i released my foot from the accelerator, but it did not respond. i continued to pick up speed at full throttle. after jamming down hard on the accelerator it release the throttle back to the idle position. this is the 2nd time this has happened. *nm | |||

| I purchased a honda crv lx (4wd) in nov'06 from fairfax honda, va. the car had ~ 4400 miles on it when the incident occurred. we were driving near wheeling, wv returning back to fairfax, va. i was driving at about 35 miles per hour when the car suddenly slowed down as we were negotiating a mild curve and slope. just over the top of the slope, the car abruptly stopped. the whole thing from slow-down to abrupt halt was 5-10 seconds. initially i couldn't even get it to put it on neutral to get move it to the shoulder. after this it has turned out to be a very frustrating time with american honda and the dealer. i have been told by the dealer that the engine has completely broken down and has to be replaced (still haven't told me what caused it). being a new car with such low mileage, i asked american honda and the dealer for a replacement. the case officer never called me inspite of dozens of calls (finally reached him on thurs). he actually got aggressive when i asked about the car replacement. he said that my request would never get approved and is a waste of time. he even explicitly said that he was giving me an ultimatum - i'll give a new engine. then take the 7-yr extended warranty i am giving now, or else i will give you nothing. when i shot back asking if he was threatening me, he refused to acknowledge. he said that he would still give the extended warranty even if the new car request was denied in a very angry tone and ended the conversation. the case number is n012006-07-03-01-018. the case officer's name is herbert webb. the service director from fairfax honda (oscar) was not so aggressive but pretty much said the same things that herbert webb told (oscar had discussed the case with herb before this). i am extremely worried about the vehicle that it broke down so bad without a warning the first time we traveled more than 50 miles. it is even painful when the manufacturer and dealer are not even ready to consider my request. please help. *nm | |||

| Emissions light came on. took 2006 crv with 24,000 miles to local dealership. diagnostic came up bank 1 sensor 1 heat circuit inoperable (bad front o2 sensor-emissions). complained. no reason for o2 sensors to go out with such low mileage. | |||

| I have had two accidents in my 2006 honda crv and the air bags have never gone off. there is obviously a problem, but honda will not admit to it. one accident was in july of 2009, the second november of 2010 i also had to replace all 4 tires at 34,000 miles.....they were rated for 60, 000..... so far i'm not happy with my purchase my second issue is that the heat shield has rusted off, again called honda and they say that it's a routine repair. my honda only has 50, 000 miles on it. nothing should be rusting on a 4 year old car.... | |||
