I took my vehicle to the honda dealer for its 90,000 service. at this time honda dealer recommended work but did not perform replace front lower arm compliance bushing, ball joints boot torn. honda did not mention the nhtsa campaign id 12v12400, (suspension front control arm lower arm). i felt like the honda rep did not explain my options, and did not listen to my concerns. i had it repaired at another auto care center. on 9-13-2012, the ac system went, compressor locked up. it needed an entire new ac system. at this time, the mechanic made me aware of nhtsa campaign id 12v12400 as well as many complaints on line of honda ac compressor problems and the class action lawsuit (now over). one part ruined the entire ac system. honda was less than honest in wanting to charge me for the suspension front control arm lower arm). these repairs totaled $2500.

During heavy rains, water will seep in under the carpets from somewhere forward and lower than the windshield. the water comes from under the dashboard, usually on the passenger side. it does not drip in, but rather soaks up from under the carpet. i personally have seen the water grow up to 2 inches in depth above the carpets. after some internet searching, similar problems were found in earlier models of cr-v. the issues found stemmed from faulty/old factory seals on items like the firewall and a/c vents. please contact with more questions if this information is unclear or could be improved.

The driver side visor is loose and won't stay in position while driving. this is a safety hazard. if i'm in an accident, my head will be chopped by the visor. all of the honda forums show this is a common issue with the 2005-2006 cr-v.

I have had this vehicle sinse 2006. never had any issues until this year when the abs and vsa light came on. at first there was no issue but it got to the point that even after replacing several sensors the lights would stay on and the vehicle's cruise control could not set. it also had a lag between braking to when the vehicle would stop. finally the engine seased in the middle of the road when my daughter was driving it. we replaced the engine to the tune of 2000.00 and now only a few weeks later the vsa light is back on.

2006 honda crv, noise in the rear differential. starts making grinding noise when turning sharply at low speed. pasted 36 month warranty period. honda put out a service bulletin #07-024 with instructions to replace the rear differential fluid and burnish the rear differential clutches. the owner's manual says to change differential fluid at 60k miles or 4 yrs. the original fluid is defective

2006 honda, cr-v. rear differential making noise, at slowed speeds while turning. checked owners manual, it states to change at 90,000 miles. checked on-line to see if this was a common complaint. couldn't believe there is an actual service bulletin out for this and no notifacation from the dealership i bought it from or the dealership where i've had my oil changes done at. really disappointed that i have to pay to replace the fluids so i don't have damage done to my car. why is honda not notifying there loyal customers about this problem, maybe covering the cost to replace the fluids that are just breaking down prematurely i bought my honda because of the reputation.

My rear gate was extremely hard to open & close. brought to dealership & they advised that the hinges needed lubricating. the sprayed a yellow foam on the hinges. in the week that followed, i noticed that opening that rear gate became very easy, so much so that the rear gate falls out of place. in order to clse the gate i need to lift up withh all of my might & shove it closed. looking closer at the hinges, they appear to be snapped. i brought it back to the dealership today (5/24/10) and they advised that the hinge was snapped from disengrating, and that they had never seen anything like this. they sent me to the body shop they use and the man there also told me the same thing, the hinge has disengrated. i now need to replace the hinges becasue the body shop told me this is very dangerous, the read door could fall off while driving as the only thing holding this on is the rear gate handle lock and if the door fell off while driving it could not only kill someone driving behind me, but that it would be thousands of dollars to replace the whole rear door/gate. this is a 2006 honda cr-v, how can hinges disengrate in 4 years?!

On may 8th, i drove my 2006 honda cr-v home from a restaurant. i traveled about 25 miles per hour in my neighbourhood. my hond cr-v suddently shut off engine and restarted itself. the vsa ligh, check engine light and one more light came on. i was so scared. on may 10th, i took my car to honda dealer to be checked out. they told me that the vehicle stability assistance (vsa) system failed after i owned the car for four years and at 45000+ miles. dealer told me it costed $2300 dollars to replace the system. i did not accept it. i asked dealer and america honda corp. to help. finally they agreed i paid $725 dollars for the entire repair.
