Car would not start:no engine turning, no lights, etc. thought i had a dead battery, locked car to get help (via key fob) and lights went on acknowleding it locked. tried to start car again and it started fine. radio was blinking and had to enter radio security code like the battery had been disconnected. drove car home with no further problems. this morning car would not start again, followed the same process of locking and unlocking, lights come on and car would start (no blinking radio though). drove into work, stopped at intersection. when light turned green, started to drive (moved about 50 feet) and dashboard lit up and then car stalled and turned off. car would not start again. would not shift out of park. good samaritan messed with it and managed to get it into neutral so it could be pushed to side of road. said the emergency brake had been engaged which is why it would not shift from park? from side of road car started fine. i drove it home where now sits in the garage.

Air conditioning system only blows out hot air. honda service looked at condenser, said they saw no 'road damage'. service dept. contacted me, said that there was 'road damage', repair bill $1000 for replacement of condenser & installation. no visible sign of any damage. *tr

Honda crv 2007 ex 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder. the car does not start occasionally. the battery is fine. starter is okay. checked online forum to find the issue and fix. several people have logged same issue online. dealers don't know what is wrong. honda of america say that there is no problem. but clearly there is some issue in the engine immobilization or other electrical issue related to ignition. some one need to dig in to the issue and have it fixed by honda regardless of mileage. today (friday, march 05, 2010) again the vehicle does not start at all. the battery is fine since the lights and radio and other electrical components are working. seems like the some thing with the ignition electrical system. i have to tow away the vehicle to dealer and they need to diagnose the problem since it is not starting at all. *tr

A defective made, brand new honda 2007 model cr-v had a defective oil seal from the factory. it was sold by honda of serramonte at 485 serramonte blvd., colma city, ca, 94014, (650) 758-4800 at 16 miles. luckily, we did not go too far away--otherwise, the car would have stalled on the freeway when oil had been drained, would leading to an fatal accident! we had it for only 2 hours, from 6 to 8 pm. on nov. 16, 2006, from the dealership to dinner. after dinner, we found a trail of oil was coming into the garage and under the car all way to the engine. the next morning, nov. 17, 2006, the car was returned to dealer with a reading of 51 miles. they cashed out our money, $22,000 and gave us a broken car. at the dealership, we were not able to reach the manager. after 45 minutes sad, angry and helplessly waiting in the dealership. we had contacted the main honda customer office. from 10 am to 1:30 pm, we were very frustrated. (1) that cr-v was made defectively. (2) if oil was leaking all out. it is a life or death matter on the road! (3) originally, operation of 2007 cr-v had caused some damage. some parts had to be replaced. (4) it may be defective in some other parts. we were afraid to take that defective car on the road. (5) it's not a new car any more. the leaking will affected and damaged some other parts. a lot of parts were taken apart to make repairs. their inspections had failed before. (6) the inspector had failed to find the problem. [it was made defective in factory.] (7) the customer service was poor. on 11/17/2006, we were let waiting till after almost an hour had passed, and the honda main office was contacted. (8) they were unwilling to satisfy our request [they refused to replaced it with another one]. neither honda and dealership, they do not want to take care of us. (9) also they want to make profit by taking it back for less than we had pay for. *jb

 (1) events leading up to the failure - none, car was driven under normal driving conditions on paved roads and highways (2) failure and its consequences - according to a dealer, debris (perhaps a rock or pebble) flew past the grill and punctured the ac condenser, causing a leak. consequently, the air conditioner no longer blows cold and will cost approximately $800 to repair. (3) what was done to correct the failure - no action has heretofore been taken. *tr

Engine and vsa warning lights came on for our 2007 honda cr-v. honda dealer said it was our timing chain and that this was a typical problem with cars over 100,000 miles. honda supposedly had solved this problem with their belts by going to the chain. our car had 98,000 miles on it. the cost to fix this was $1,600.00! driving the cr-v right after this problem was fixed the tpms alarm came on. now we have to pay even more to have this fixed and due to high repair costs cannot get fixed right away, so left driving without this safety system. talked to dealer was no help and honda of america was no help. they said it was because we did not change the oil as we should. the honda cr-v maintenance book said to change oil when the oil change warning light comes on, this is what we did each and every time, but honda said we should change before that! why do they state to change when warning light comes on if this is not true?we bought this vehicle new because we thought it was reliable and low maintenance!
