2008 honda cr-v engine sometimes races when braking to stop. putting the car in neutral allows the engine to rev-up then return to normal revs. this happens with the foot on the brake. honda deal did not find any problems with the car. this happens once a week starting when car was new. *tr

2008 honda crv. consumer states while in reverse, there is a grinding noise coming from the right front wheel. *gr the dealer determined that an engine mount stud was broken, a side mount was distorted and the a/c compressor pulley was touching the engine beam which resulted in sparks and/or an electrical problem. the a/c matter appeared to be associated with the engine having shifted some from the broken stud and distorted side mount. *jb

This is the second time since purchasing the vehicle april 2008 that i've started the vehicle and the engine revved at a high idle speed like i was flooring the accelerator except my foot was on the brake. i'm concerned that this may happen when i'm coasting without my foot on any pedals and the car may accelerate on it's own. the first time this occurred, i had my foot on the brake and put the car in neutral and the high revving stopped. i took it to a honda dealer and they said sometimes the accelerator valve sticks and they sprayed lubricant on it. *tr

After driving my new honda cr-v for 4 weeks, 3 to 4 times a week i began to feel sick. i experienced severe headaches, nausea, burning sensation in my sinuses and throat, over-all weakness. this continued for 5 weeks until i was so sick that i stayed home in bed for 3 days in mid march. then when i drove the car again after returning to work i again got very sick and it was at that point that i suspected that the car was somehow the cause. i saw my gp doctor, explained my symptoms and he confirmed that the chemical emissions coming from the new materials and adhesives in the interior of the car could be the cause. as long as i do not drive the car more than once a week and do so with all of the windows open i do not get sick. i have read reports that indicate that it will take 6-8 months before the harmful chemical levels drop to acceptable levels. also, the reports say that if the car is parked in the sun, the heat intensifies the toxic chemical levels and that this can last up to 3 years. because this has made me so very sick i felt that i should report it. *tr
