| The vehicle drifts to the right. this drift has nothing to do with the crown of the road. it drifts to the right on perfectly flat roads. i thought the wheels needed to be aligned, but after the first wheel alignment (at the honda dealer in tallahassee) the problem persisted and continued to persist after several more attempts to align the wheels. the dealership consulted with the manufacturer in california and subsequently the right front strut was replaced. that did not solve the problem. the dealership said that both it and the manufacturer were aware of the problem and that it could not be fixed. the dealer called it memory steer and said it was a known problem with the 2008 cr-v. they also mentioned that it might have something to do with being unable to adjust the camber on this vehicle. i've noted numerous similar complaints on the internet. i took the vehicle to the dealer approximately seven times over the course of a couple of months and the problem was not fixed. the vehicle still drifts to the right. it needs to be fixed. (the vehicle mileage is the mileage at the time i purchased this pre-owned vehicle. i purchased it in des moines, iowa and now live in tallahassee, fl.). *tr | |||

| 2008 honda cr-v continues to pull to the right. i had to replace my tires twice each time around 20k miles - the tires were worn unevenly even though i had them rotated 3 times in the past year. brought into mile high honda in denver to check alignment, each time they claim nothing is wrong and it is normal to have to replace tires every 20k miles. i also complained that the steering wheel is not straight when driving. i first reported this issue when the car had 9k miles on it.. it has been a year and 1/2 and issue remains. this is a very dangerous defect that for some reason they can not figure out how to fix. the car does not drive straight. period. i guess they are waiting for someone to get seriously hurt or die before they will admit there is a problem. *tr | |||

| Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact was traveling 70 mph when they heard a grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. the contact then attempted to move the vehicle over to the side of the road but the rear wheels locked abnormally. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was told that the rear bearings would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 34,000. | |||

| After three service attempts by the honda dealer to correct the car not tracking straight, i had a local alignment shop install rear camber adjusting kits. car did not track straight, prior to installing the after-market kits, the car would continually drift left. the dealer now states the warranty is void because i put non-honda parts on the car. when i called the dealer parts department, they have the same after market rear camber kit. searching customer complaints on sites such as edmound's, a significant number of customers complain about tire wear. my tires were wearing excessively and abnormal prior to correcting alignment on all four wheels. it appears that the 2008 honda cr-v has a manufacturer defect and later year cars do not when a search of customer complaints is done. *tr | |||

| I experienced excessive cupping on the rear tires of my new 2008 honda cr-v awd. the tires began to make a very loud noise and the vehicle developed a slight bouncing ride at about 22,000 miles and both issues became intolerable at about 26,000 miles, and you could feel the extreme cupping of the tires when rubbing your hand over the tread. i had the dealer rotate the tires with every scheduled oil change, and the cupping problem still continued to occur. the vehicle came with the conti 4 x 4 tires, and they needed to be replaced at my expense well before a reasonable life expectancy. the honda dealer would not provide me with any warranty assistance or discount, stating that they would do a 4 wheel alignment on the vehicle - at my expense - and sell me 4 new tires. there are numerous forums on the internet where people are complaining and alleging that the awd vehicles (fwd's are ok) are leaving the factory with improper alignment of the rear camber and it is causing the premature wear of the factory tires. the dealer claimed that they had no knowledge of this problem. i took the vehicle to a national tire shop and purchased 4 new tires and had them perform a 4 wheel alignment on the vehicle....the computer read-out that they provided me showed that the rear tires were aligned in extreme opposite directions. the employees at the tire shop alleged that they were very familiar with the problem because they see lots of 2007 and 2008 honda crv's in their shop with the same problem. i believe there is a problem for which honda doesn't want to accept responsibility. tire cupping is not only a nuisance because of the rumbling noise that gets louder at freeway speeds - it is also a safety issue for braking and traction because of how it affects the amount of tread surface contact with the roadway. immediately upon leaving the tire shop, the problem disappeared and the vehicle ride is quiet and great. i cost me over $800 for new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. *tr | |||

| Lack of adjustment for rear camber on 2008 honda crv. have contacted american honda and they do not feel there is a problem. dealer has contacted same and they can't get anywhere either. dealer acknowledges that there is a problem with the lack of adjustment for rear chamber on this vehicle. there is a aftermarket part that will correct the problem. but i should not have to pay for this part. if i where to buy this part and have it installed by local dealer he said i would void my warranty. *tr | |||
