Exhaust leak. flexible gasket at base of catalytic converter deteriorates in heat and causes noise when catalytic converter is hot at low speeds and idle. vehicle was at dealer 5 times with no successful repair (march, aug, oct and nov, 2010). dealer has escalated issue to honda engineering, but no estimated time for resolution.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 honda cr-v. the contact stated he noticed a noise in the engine. he took the vehicle to the dealership several times where minor repairs were made. however, the noise was still present. the dealer then stated that they changed the power steering pump and hose. the contact still heard the noise. the contact called the service manager and was advised to take the vehicle back in. the service manager then called him back stating that he spoke with the manufacturer and could not do anything else to the vehicle. the dealer repaired it once more but the problem continued. the problem had not been remedied at the time of the complaint. the current mileage was approximately 8,000. the failure mileage was approximately 200-bk

I own a 2010 honda crv, there is a noticeable hesitation in accelerations from a stop or slow speed. most apparent when attempting to make a left turn against oncoming traffic as the hesitation makes these turns dangerous. as with complaints 10361582 and 10361843 (and likely others), i have taken the car into the honda dealer whose assessment is that the car is performing per specification. i suspect it has something to do with honda increasing the compression ratio for 2010, but not properly tuning the timing for all situations, but i am not a mechanic so it's just an uneducated hunch.
