While in motion, the heat shield that covers the catalytic converter fell off, the four bolts that hold the sheild in place had corroded. the dealer refused to replace it because of the mileage. consumer explains that when the vehicle was refused service it was well within the waranty period. consumer feels this is a dangerous situation because a fire could develop due to defective materials. *jg | |||

Consumer states the heat shield that covers the catalytic converter is made of stainless steel. the four connecting bolts which are made of ordinary steel has corroded. as a result the shield fell off while driving and dragged on the road. all four bolts had rusted away. the dealer and manufacturer refused to replace it under the federal emissions warranty. *tt | |||
