There should be a rubber flap of some kind to close of the large opening in the wheel well area where the steering rods come through to the wheel. this large opening lets water, mud, snow & slush spray up into the engine compartment covering the engine, battery, brake and power steering fluid containers so that they are always dirty and hard to check for the correct levels. i brought this to the attention of my dealer shortly after purchasing this vehicle, but they said this is the way it was designed and there was nothing they could do about it. i think this is a bad design, i made rubber flaps and installed them myself, they helped 100%. i will not buy another honda in 2005 unless this is remedied. *la
